WBB: Keys spurs exhibition blowout (link)

In this shooting Francis in a barrel game, the Boilers showed they have a lot of athleticism and a spate of ball handlers. Really every player out there looked like they knew what they are doing. The lack of front line depth will surely bite them in some games, but Keys, a potential All-BT player, will really make a difference. Can't really judge this team until Versyp gets her other front line players back but Lawson is a take no prisoners stud and Boudreau did not look raw. This team, unusually, has 4 point guards though they will not be used always in that capacity and McGluaghlin has star written all over her. Was really impressed with Gray and Murphy too. Oden and Copper and Harris are really good. I think they will do better than many people think. I guess we'll know more Friday when the go on the road vs an always tough Central Mich team, but I was encouraged by what I saw today. This team is really young. Plus we have some really good recruits coming in, including the one who verbaled today.

Can't have too many good guards. Looking forward to seeing what they can do this year.

I didn't see it quite like you did. I think the first six (starters plus Murphy) were cause for great optimism. They are very talented and fun to watch. The other three didn't show me that they are ready today for Big Ten basketball. It was just the first game, and nerves and excitement may have been involved. However, I think lack of depth could be a problem. I am hoping that at least one of the three who didn't play will help--especially because the front court is so thin.
This may be as talented a first six as I have seen in a long time. I hope that SV does not see a need to put a big in there to replace one of the present starters, By the way, Murphy looked REALLY GOOD!! I am not sure how she can be kept out of the lineup.

I say we just turn it loose and shoot like we're the Golden State Warriors. Would be fun to watch with so many good guards and fun to play in and probably easier to recruit to.

Maybe your right about the top 6 but I think the others are a bit better, but we'll see. I will judge this team in Jan and on. Typical for Coach V team. They usually improve. Last season they made a huge jump, almost beating ND which no one gave them a prayer to do.
