Was there any doubt?

Yes. I was on pins and needles the whole time. Fun game!

Louisville came out and were kicking it. Matt put in the twin towers and that really threw off Louisville's shooting. We climbed back in, but it looked like foul trouble would beat us. In the 2nd half, we started working the ball inside and even though Haas had a poor shooting night their big men both picked up big fouls guarding him. Haas had the pick of the day when Mathias came around him and hit the big 3. Haarms then showed how a big man can guard the perimeter and had the big block on the 3 pointer.

Vince hit several key shots and Carson hit some clutch free throws. The unsung hero was PJ breaking the press and the best pass of the night was Eifert to Taylor. This was great game coaching by Matt.

what does it say about ewing when everyone plays except luce and ewing? i thought he would be playing more than eifert.

That Painter should not of offered him. I kind of feel bad for him because you know he was expecting playing time and painter is recruiting over him.

I am not convinced Eiffert is better but Ewing has to be too raw to play since he would fit in perfectly next to one of the towers with his athleticism. He just doesn't know how to play purdue ball.

That being said I am surprised he doesn't get more opportunity since eastern has been given room to grow. I guess he just is a lower priority. the back up 4 is the teams biggest weak point. Eiffert is a stop gap yes he plays purdue ball but his lack of skills and length just lower the talent level on the court drastically when he goes in and Ewing and Easter

Completely agree. During the summer after the wug i made a comment that ewing would most likely not contribute and would be lucky to receive 10 minutes. I caught hell from multiple regular posters here. Wish i knew what thread that was.

Ewing also was later getting on campus I do believe so is behind everyone else including Eiffert.

I think Purdue made a 9 to 2 run to tie it at 11 with Haarms and Haas. Although I appreciated teh pass Eiffert made to Taylor (and not sure how it got through) I liked Carsen's bounce pass to Vince going to the bucket even more. THAT ONE got a huge clap from me before Vince shot and I think some people around me clapped after Vince made the bucket...probably not sure what I was clapping about...

great to see those earlier posts/ideas come to fruition in game and work so well

The season has progressed to almost the end of the first semester. If the kid can not get back up to speed during that time, there is concern in my mind that he fits. I would have expected that he would have gained a chance to play significantly by now.

Good win and yes I was worried. Best part of the G&B writeup: "After (Haas) being reinserted with the Boilermakers (6-2) trailing 33-27, Haas drew five fouls over the next 2:05, spurring a 16-3 run that turned Purdue's 33-27 deficit into a 43-36 lead with 9:12 to play."

Great analysis. In the first half, the Twin Towers turned the game around for us and we even missed a couple of open 3's. I just hope that Haas' injury is not serious. We need to continue the momentum. I think we can beat MSU and their tall front line.
