Volleyball Season Starts Today 8/26

Starting the year on the road at the Tennessee Classic in Nashville. Playing Bowling Green at 10:30 AM this morning. The game is not televised but we can listen on-line at portal here. Tomorrow #13 ranked Purdue goes against Loyola Chicago at 1 PM and Tennessee at 6 PM. This should give us some idea, with all the departures and additions., what kind of team we will be this year.

It looks like the broadcast starts 10 mins before game start.

Fort Wayne frosh Eva Hudson has 7 kills/no erriors including the set winner as Purdue wins first set 25-23. Bowling Green sounds pretty good.

Purdue goes up 2 sets to none. Eva Hudson having a fantastic game as a freshman with 14 kills and only 1 error. The only other freshman to have that many kills in their first game is Grace Cleveland.

The Boilers win in three sets taking the last one 25-23 after trailing most of the game. Eva Hudson was remarkable with 18 kills and a .444 hitting percentage along with a block and an ace. Looks like she will be a 4 year star. Maddie Koch had 6 blocks and Megan Renner did well in her first starting game as setter. Colvin also did very well.

From what Coach Shondell said Bowling Green may win the MAC and they only lost two people from last year’s excellent team so this win is no small achievement.

Thanks for the report, you’re top notch and I appreciate it! We don’t get much when it comes to womens sports, it’s nice to see some that follow it like we do!

I see Loyola beat BG in 4 sets this afternoon, Tomm’s game will be a tough one, Loyola is very good.

Thought about going down Saturday, then looked it up and the games were in Knoxville, not Nashville, and that over doubles the travel time.....
