I don’t think we know that yet. Who is the one player who can draw a double. Try to remember that last year Jenkins, Johnson and Deen weren’t necessarily good independently. That’s different than being good as a byproduct of George drawing hard doubles and triples. An example of being good independent of that was Kawann short when we had Ryan Kerrigan. He was just flat out good independent of Kerrigan. You couldn’t hard double either one. If short had the minuscule attention that was given to any of our three starters not named George … it would have been untenable.

I think we know that the DL won’t suck. But will they generate pass pressure without needing a fifth guy? I won’t know that till I see it.

spring football is zero sum. If last years Purdue OL was playing in the spring game now you’re talking about sydnor, Anderson etc trying to beat Miller. Very possible he’s like “double? Don’t need it.” Now the blocking roles left and Jenkins, Johnson and Deen were barely getting home WITH GEORGE providing them with blocking scenarios where my dad might get home.

you only get four out there at a time. Does last years line with Anderson or sydnor in George’s spot scare you if you’re Iowa? Doesn’t scare me.
