Two seed talk

In this morning’s updated bracket, ESPN dropped Purdue from the 2 line to the 3, after losing to OSU. Win impressively tonight, and based on the rest of this weekend’s games, they could find there way back to the 2 soon.

One game at a time, but that said, this team has the talent, experience and leadership to win the rest of the games on their regular season schedule.

This has been one of my favorite Purdue teams to watch develop because of the adversity that they faced early on and how they have come together as a team. It’s hard to recall a team turning it around this dramatically on defense so quickly. There is a perception that to be great defensively you need to have extreme athleticism and length, but there are definitely longer and more athletic teams than Purdue in the Big Ten. Purdue is doing it with connectedness, heart, great coaching, and total buy-in from the entire rotation.

We have all been very spoiled with the last 3 years prior to this season where Purdue was playing very well to start the season. This was not like that year in part due to the scheduling and Zach leaving. We weren’t used to this type of thing happening 😂 or maybe we all forgot. They’re peaking at the right time and hope it continues into March.

Yeah for sure. Would be one of paints best coaching years if that happens haha. I’m thinking 15-5ish will win it. MSU needs to start losing a few here… 😂
25-6 would be good. 1 seed good? Purdue is in a surprisingly big group that with some super solid play can fight for 1 seeds. Auburn, Duke, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Houston, Marquette, Purdue, Michigan State and Iowa State.

6 losses is prob absolute max that a 1 can have. And they’d have to win the conf outright, which is on the table still but things need to fall certain ways for Purdue.

Still not sold on sparty. They remind me of the 22-23 boilers. One guy as their main production and the rest are role players that aren’t shooting it very well from 3 (29% overall and 33% in B1G play vs bottom of conference). Could see them winning the conference and losing first round when they go cold and a team gets hot from 3.

I'd love to see Izzo lose in the first round.

Sparty Twitter is convinced they will be fine in March with their team shooting 29% from 3 because they are “built” to not need it and won’t get down by more than 10.

Their schedule lines up very nicely for them to win the conference. And so far, haven’t slipped up. February will be a tough stretch for them, but maybe they’ll make it out.

Play good enough defense and it can help. It's the one thing that travels. But yea that 3pt% really needs to bump up.

Purdue has a lot of chances with Q1 wins left. Would love to get at least a 3 seed in the Midwest but definitely think a 2 seed in other regions is a high probability if Purdue were to go 8-2 for the last half of conference play and get a win in the BTT.

They have 10 Q1 games remaining compared to our 6

They've got the wrong guys taking them. Richardson and Fears should probably take more. Akins, Booker, Fidler and Kohler should stop shooting. Wild that they've only got one guy shooting in the 30's.

Name - Attempts - 3P%

Akins - 94 - 28.7%
Holloman - 70 - 31.4%
Booker - 53 - 20.8%
Fidler - 47 - 19.1%
Richardson - 38 - 44.7%
Kohler - 25 - 20.0%
Fears - 14 - 42.9%
Carr - 6 - 50%

Fears with less than 1 a game!? And Richardson only at 2 a game?

Hmmm wonder if we will be going under screens
