Tweet about Brohm

He may have been a Cardinal, but he is a Boilermaker. He has embraced this community, fans, and this team. He is coming off the biggest win in his coaching career and shown what he can do here. The fans have showed him how much they support him and it was overwhelmingly obvious Saturday night.

The impact of Tyler Trent and Rondale Moore just can’t be overstated. And then he is going to add GK and probably YK. There is absolutely no reason to leave. I just hope the AD keeps the money for the assistants up. Definitely don’t want to see anymore of them poached. (I’m looking at you Chick-Fil-A).

That was clever, you worked in Poached and Chick-Fil-A! I won't add to it with more puns!

"It's kind of like in the recruiting world where people just read the name on jerseys and never get to know what's on the inside right off the bat until you get in front of them."---Coach Brohm

This was his response to a question about why people all assume he is leaving after this year. Maybe I am wrong, but I think he is referring to himself here. As in, people naturally assume he is leaving because that is what a younger up and coming coach should do. Use Purdue as a stepping stone to one of those "Bama type SEC gig's." I think what he is saying to everyone is, don't assume that I am like every other coach. I see him staying as long as Purdue supports him and the program and I have no doubt they will. We as fans need to support the program as well.

Did you watch the video in the link? I don't think he dispelled anything.
To be fair, I'm not sure what you expect a coach to say to a question like that. I will take him for his word and feel very good about it. But there are many examples of coaches saying the same thing and then bolting at the end of the season. I believe Brohm is different. At least I hope I do.

Ugjh yeah did you troll?

I'll ignore the dumb troll accusation.

He didn't dispel anything. First he gave a minute long non-answer, then gave your typical sort of "it's great here!" answers that you would expect from someone in his position.

I'm not saying he has one foot out the door or anything. But these sorts of answers don't really reveal anything one way or the other.

Your post was pointless. Thanks for wasting my time.

The point was that you were wrong. I'll take the lack of rebuttal as an admission to that.
You said or did nothing to prove you are correct. No need for a rebuttal on a troll. Your attempt to cast doubt was based on what feeling? Most people are true to their word. What proof do you have that he isn't forthcoming and honest?

No one is saying he was lying. But he said what any coach would say in that situation. I think we all believe him.

Not sure the hostility toward bananabucket is warranted. He's actually quite good at answering these questions without real answers. He's not backing himself into a corner. As much as we want him to just state, "I'm here for the long term," he's just not going to do that. He didn't last year and he's not doing it this year. Which quite frankly is the best way to handle it, in my opinion if you're Jeff Brohm. That being said, I believe he stays for a while at least. Remember Brian Brohm is on staff as well. I could see a scenario in which it is Brian who leaves after a few more years OR is the one who stays.
