I think there are a couple priorities as we look ahead to next winter:
1. Get an impact transfer point guard
This is the most important one, IMO. Need someone who can be a steadying influence down the stretch and allow Purdue to spread the floor and go to PnR action. Getting Pack would be a coup, but even one of the mid-major options could be a valuable piece.
2. Commit to Furst as a 5/4
There are going to be plenty of scenarios to go big with Furst at the 4 alongside Edey. But to unlock his ceiling, Painter needs to go 12-15 minutes per game with Furst at the 5. That's when his mobility and floor-spacing becomes a matchup advantage.
3. Get TKR and Newman ready for big minutes
Gillis and Morton likely have the inside track on starting and getting big minutes early in the year. But this team's ceiling is raised if these two guys can push the incumbents for more minutes. TKR is the type of 4-man that can win you games in March if he's reaching his potential and Newman's scoring punch can flip games in a hurry.
