Several G5 head coaches were fired this year with less than 2 years on the job. Only thing I can surmise from that in G5 they don’t have guaranteed contracts so they don’t use $ to keep guys around.

I bet they have buyouts just like any coach, they're just smaller amounts. But then that's offset by the school not taking in as much TV $.

He did some good things at IU as HC. Had he not had issues off the field, he could’ve stuck around a while.

Someone will hire him quickly as an OC, which he’s excelled in at Miami of Ohio and Northwestern with Randy Walker, Oklahoma with Stoops and OSU with Meyer and Day.
