Trey Thompson

Jul 27, 2024 · Trey Thompson, a 6-foot-8 forward from Greenville, Tenn., received an offer from Purdue this week. He is one of the nine prospects in the 2026 recruiting class that the Boilermakers have extended offers to.

It would be good to wrap up the recruiting trail and then focus on keeping and building these players into Purdue's culture.

Trey does a little bit of everything. A 6’8” PF that can handle the ball, pass, shoot and dunk…yes please! He looks like he would fit right in at Purdue. I’m not sure why he isn’t ranked higher though with Purdue and Tennessee being his only big offers but being from Tennessee will make his recruitment interesting.

What is the date that recruits have to sign their LOI in 2025? It would be interesting to see who Purdue was able to recruit.

May 21 is the end of the recruiting period, which started on April 16.

It's also my understanding that National Letter of Intent program is ending and to be replaced with financial aid agreements. All part of the roster changes, scholarships, portal, NIL, and more at the "college" sports smorgasbord. Don't fill up on the first plate.

His name is Trey he's going to work with the best post coach in the nation Brandon Brantley and you'll get it go watch the Boilermakers in Indy for the Final Four on the bench sounds like a no-brainer to me
If we also offer a good amount of money, then it becomes a no brainer

Good question. Seems like until these guys can bolt at any time.

As a reference, 5 star Shelton Henderson decommitted from Duke last week. Heck our own Kanon Catchings was even on campus before he decommitted.
And after 1 year at BYU and ending up not starting at the end of his first season, he is off to Georgia to play BB!
