I thought he didn't want to play with Furst?

Kaufman was my "most wanted ... although Furst could easily be Co-most wanted ... I didn't consider Holmgren as viable.Furst and Kaufman will be a great class
With ZERO knowledge, I think it's a guarantee it will be a three-man (or four) class. And NO, I have no guess who will not be here!!!!!!!!Thank you for the info.! I feel like if we are still going for Kaufman that Painter must feel like it will be a 3-man class. I can’t imagine that we would just give up on Ingram, Christie, Holmgren etc
You wanted the Kaufman over Furst?Kaufman was my "most wanted ... although Furst could easily be Co-most wanted ... I didn't consider Holmgren as viable.
You wanted the Kaufman over Furst?
It has more to do with the reality of who I expected to get over the ranking of who I "wanted."You wanted the Kaufman over Furst?
Me want both equally. You wanted the Kaufman over Furst?

Obviously that poster was quite knowledgeable! If CMP knows they won't play together why recruit him? Where did that poster go that said this and I believe it was the same poster that claimed Furst to MSU.

Yeah the M$U homer on 247 predicted it.Did someone actually claim First to MSU? I predicted Furst to MSU but it was just a prediction
This wasn't directed towards you. There was a poster that stated that he would bet Purdue wouldn't land any top 50 player let alone 2. He was the same that said Furst and Kaufman wouldn't play together but CMP must think differently. The same guy that said Kentucky wasn't a top 10 team because of the NET ranking but are looking at a 2 seed. I also believe he might be a closet IU fan.Did someone actually claim First to MSU? I predicted Furst to MSU but it was just a prediction
I do not get that either but several people have said that. I suspect Kaufman reminds them of Vince or something
yes, should be some good years with Furst, Kaufman, Morton, Ivey, Edey and those already on the team. That group will have more good players than the Baby Boilers. Video seems to indicate that Trey is a fit from the mental side for Purdue as well. While I think right now Furst is the more physically imposing player and more skilled, Kauffman has a higher ceiling. I think he fits Purdue's system very well. He is the missing 4 piece for Purdue. Furst will have a very good career in a Purdue uniform when it is all said and done, but Kauffman is the missing piece for Purdue.
Kauffman does appear to be quite versatile. Maybe more so than Furst? This somewhat reminds me of the 2007 class, with comparisons between Hummel and Martin...
Kaufman isn’t going to Purdue. I’ll bet anything you want on it. I’ll even give you 2/1 odds. I’m not saying that he’s going to IU either though. I think he only goes if he knows that Trayce is leaving after next year. If he doesn’t improve at certain things it will be hard for Trayce to get drafted in the first round since he’s a 6’8 or 6’9 big man. He’s great at the collegiate level but his height will scare NBA teams off since he’s an under the basket player with no outside shot. Selfishly I hope he stays 2 or 3 more years. That's my take as well. Can play the 3 or the 4. Furst is very skilled offensively but his skill set translates to more of a 5 than a 4.

who is his number 1 or does he have one?Kaufman isn’t going to Purdue. I’ll bet anything you want on it. I’ll even give you 2/1 odds.
I hear Xavier and IU but that’s message board stuff. I’m not saying anything bad about Purdue as you’re set up to be great over the next four years. Unless Furst leaves after a year or guys get hurt you may have the best team in the country in a few years. You’re two best players will be white guys, too. You don’t see that very often. Morton and Furst will be great collegiate players. Furst reminds me of Cody Zeller. Only bad thing about that is he may only stick around for a year or two but you’ll have a lot of fun watching him play while he’s yours. I wanted them both.who is his number 1 or does he have one?
that makes sense. Wasn't sure why the other guy was so sure he wouldn't be at Purdue?Assuming Purdue is still in play, I think he lands at one of the following; Louisville, Xavier, IU, or Purdue. Seem to be the 4 schools looking at him the hardest.

A video left the impression that he was a cerebral kid, not star struck by bright lights, wanting to learn, versatile and not only a great upside, but probably the kind of player that desires to be surrounded by similar ype of kids at programs and honest, direct straight shooting coaches. Still, we all know that players sometimes make decisions we don't understand.I hear Xavier and IU but that’s message board stuff. Could be, but don't you think that if Matt thought Trey was not interested he would be watching someone else? Something makes Matt think Purdue has a real shot. He has been on Trey for a LONG time and with Matt being straight forward and very honest in his approach, I'm guessing there is an honest, good relationship between the two...at least enough that Matt still thinks Purdue is in this it appearsI'm guessing in theory Furst and Kauffman won't be playing with each other and with Purdue only having one other available scholarship left they may be looking elsewhere, but says a lot that Painter is still looking at him. I do personally believe Purdue's chances took a hit with Furst commitment, but if Furst is a consolation prize for no Kauffman Painter made out ok.

Who knows what will drive decisions, but those two can play together easily and "WOULD" be a force playing together. I love two bigs that are versatile and can play on the perimeter, can play inside and use whatever advantage each has at a given time. Then add to it team players that seem thoughtful and cerebral. Those two would be great book ends.I definitely think Purdue is still interested. I'm not so sure Kauffman is on board with the idea, similar to the way Newman and Franklin hinted at not wanting to play with each other. There's definitely a scenario where Kauffman could end up at Purdue but is of my personal opinion that Purdue landing Furst likely hurts Purdue's chances with Kauffman.
I think civility gets lost when someone lashes out at another in some description of him or her...and generally absent any rebuttal to a claim made. For some reason a person reads a post and even if not to that person or about what that person said in agreement or disagreement, but somehow is threatened as though they might not know much (even if not stated a personal self doubt) regardless of what is stated and then circles the wagons as though they are attacked when in fact many times they are not.I appreciate the civility of the discussion
I want the days where Purdue and IU are always in the top 5 and the yearly games are the biggest event of the winter (more than any football bowl game or NFL playoff -exception of super bowl of course)
dang, I heard that same thing!!!I heard from a reliable source that Kaufman's favorite TV show as a kid was Sesame Street and Lil Archie shot IU's chances with him due to his childish hissy fit this weekend.
