Yeah, he's probably looking ahead to the upcoming seasons (plural) but to turn Trevor Thompson down already? Ondigo might be a good player but Painter still has time to look at more bigs/shot-blocking options. I wonder if he did that as sort of a payback for TT picking OSU over PU when he left Virginia Tech. That would be kind of a petty thing to do.

If I read the information correctly, Purdue would be his third school. Am I correct? Maybe there is something about the kid that Painter does not want in the mix of his team. I don't know anything about the kid, and I don't want to cast aspersions at him, but maybe he would not be a good fit based on Painter's impression of his personality or playing style.

Certainly possible. I did come across this short post-game interview in which he sounded like he was saying all the right things that a guy like Painter would want to hear. So, it makes me think personality wasn't it. But who knows.
