According to ESPN, Tom Brady is the first quarterback to lead the NFL in passing yards and touchdowns in his last season since 1942. That quarterback was none other than Purdue's Cecil Isbell (Green Bay).
Isbell held a couple other neat records. He was the first NFL quarterback to throw for 2,000 yards in a season (1942). Isbell also became the first player to throw a touchdown pass in 23 consecutive games (1940-1942). Johnny Unitas broke that record in 1957, but nobody else did it until Drew Brees in 2011/2012.
