TJ Reese.....my grandson just got his first official offer

He's getting communication from several schools from NAIA to D2's....Ottawa University in Kansas is offering money. Really happy for a kid that's in the gym every day getting better.
Good to hear. You hope he picks a place that works out really well for him with all the things that are important for him and to him. BTW, I was a bit worried not seeing you posting for a while. Came close to trying a PM just in case you were just reading. Good to see you are vertical! As much time as I spend on here...all the regulars are almost like family. Course, I'm the uncle they never talk about... ;) You always like to see hard working kids get rewarded

Boy, from experience with my son, there is SO MUCH difference between divisions. My son went D1 and when he got hurt and lost his schollie, WOW, DII was a shock. I'm sure you know but choose the coach who LOVES him!

As one who coached for many years and dealt with college coaches, the first thing I have told him is to remember that the coach who signs him, will not be the same coach he plays for because the minute he signs, any coach will be out recruiting over him. Since he's never going to be a pro, he's looking for the "right school" with a coach who wants him.

I've also told him that any coach who doesn't ask about grades and what he wants to be career wise is not his best choice.

Nice! I have nephew graduating hs this year that's getting some offers from similar range with sniffs from a few D1 as a long snapper prospect. It's interesting.

WISDOM!!! - My son loved an asst coach at a school he really liked, but turned down their offer (as he should have). A month after he committed somewhere else, the head coach at the other school moved on and the asst coach he really liked was made HC ... it's a merry-go-round. And YES!!!! at these levels, recruiting over you is a given.
