1. I doubt Kentucky is in much contact. They only continue to recruit kids who want to be there. I don't think they factor in the decision.
2. Duke is probably the worst fit for his game at this point. With Okafor leaving, Swanigan will most likely be their best post option and will be forced to play the 5 spot a lot. I think Swanigan would thrive in a Justice Winslow type role...but it will be hard to take that from Winslow if he's still there.
3. I think MSU is out for him right now TBH. They already have a talented PF coming in. No real big time option at the 5. I could see him getting a lot of minutes for them....but it would most likely be against his wishes at the 5 spot.
4. The Cal package deal is weird to me. A kid from GA and a kid from IN? Why would they want to go play out there? For THAT program? Obviously, love the coach....but that's about as far from a power program as you can get. I don't think there would be any debate from any basketball expert that Cal is in the weakest position of the schools on his list (besides Chicago St.) as far as current program standing and legacy. That said...all it takes is getting those good players to turn perception around. That said, Cal seems to be the choice to not upset MSU or Purdue people...not necessarily in his best interest career wise. Not a lot of east coast exposure for those Pac-12 teams.
5. Purdue is the perfect spot for him. Hammons most likely comes back. We would be REALLY good with Swanigan and Haas and Hammons AND Taylor coming back from injury. Throw Edwards in as a guy that can play the 4 and we are LOADED. That said, Purdue isn't a SEXY option...and with his intent to be a 1 and done...Purdue is probably the place where he gets the least overall hype in the media. That said, I think Purdue becomes the best team in the BIG next year with him in place...so there's definitely a risk with him coming here and not getting exposure...but I also think the reward is a deep tourney run with a pretty good surrounding cast.
Obviously I'm biased but I think it comes down to Purdue and Cal...and I hope he picks us!
