What a stupid post. Did you really think about what you were posting when you hit enter? Iowa is an excellent team, they match up very well against us, and they beat us. That does not make us a bad team.

I'm seeing a trend here. Any comment that isn't puppy dogs and rainbows....every response is directed "AT" the poster and nothing in response to the actual point. That's sad, petulant and shallow. Yep. And what is worse is they don't even see their own hypocrisy. This is why I avoid this forum more often than not anymore. You can't have a serious discussion without the "experts" forcing their opinion on you and the whine when called on it.

You guys have a really good team. No doubt about that. As a Hawkeye fan, I always liked you guys as a Big Ten opponent fan base! We will be hard pressed to see another Hawkeye basketball team this good in a long while. Uthoff is a pure pleasure to watch. Thanks for letting us have our day in the sun, so far this season. Maybe the Boilermakers will get another crack at the Hawkeyes in the post season! Good luck to your team.

I have commented about the game in other threads on the parts of it I've seen. Even on the reason for the loss.. but whatever.
Criticisms over strategy, decision-making, aggressiveness, etc., are all fine; but venting emotion-based absurdities after a loss reflects a lack of maturity. Some folks need work in the maturity department.
Iowa is really good, versatile and intense...although Uhoff doesn't break a sweat. People will say the big is down if Iowa wins it, but Iowa is really good and people have this idea which teams should be good and at the top if the league is good. I don't know the schedule Iowa has remaining and wish all teams were home and home, but this Iowa team is good, beatable...but nto easily beatable...good luck and yeah, I hope Purdue gets another shot in the tourney...

Not totally certain, but I think February 20, 2011 at home also with Ohio State was the last time a ranked Purdue squad beat a higher ranked team.....and last time Purdue beat a top 10 team. That was the infamous E'Twaun Moore 38-pt effort against Sullinger & co.

But I'm done. Responding to your rant I knew wouldn't get anywhere and I shouldn't of bothered to begin with.
Purdue's problem is that when they play a ranked team they see it as an excuse to lose not an opportunity to win and that is EXACTLY how they play. They played that game out there today with the intention to lose and it showed in everything from their facial expressions to the way they played defense. It was the same thing we saw the last time against Iowa. We did our part. They had a halftime lead and that was enough to satisfy them. That is all they wanted and that is all they got. And it really showed as it almost always does. Two completely different teams from one half to the other. It didn't take long for Iowa to score 8 straight and for Purdue to commit two turnovers immediately in the second half as Iowa launched an air force of three point shots like it was warmup time. There are 3 kind of teams. Ones that always play to lose because they love getting bullied, ones that always play to win like Duke whether they do or not they show up and usually win, and there are teams like Purdue that just like to be good enough to be ranked and get into the NCAA and lose in round 1 or 2 depending on where they are seated. That is the benchmark and they'll never go over that benchmark.
So reading comprehension isn't one of your strong suits. You were the one that made the post calling out everyone in this thread and told us to get thicker skin. Then pretty much did nothing but make your responses personal yet told others to stop doing it. Again something YOU first posted about. Then you summarize this exchange with a personal attack .... yet again something you call others on.

Purdue is a good team, at times very good .... just not a great team. They have a lot of pieces, Hammons, Swanigan, Haas, Edwards. But Davis is not playing as well as last year; erratic point guard play, and inconsistent outside shooting. To be great those 3 have to improve.
Kudos for a great post. It's a pleasure to watch how you guys play, except against us.
