I wish the national media would call it like it is with this NIL stuff.
Pete Thamel at ESPN writes regarding Addison entering the portal: "The expectation remains that this will not be a name, image and likeness (NIL) bidding war but rather a way to situate Addison best for the NFL. Seemingly, every powerhouse in the country will be a suitor."
Yet he also says: "As college football cycles through the sport's first full year of NIL rules, there's a sense that the potential transfer of one of the sport's most established players could cause enough ripples that the powers that be might consider an adjustment to the nascent rules."
Just say it's obviously an NIL issue and that he wants paid. This has nothing to do with the NFL; he'd be a top 5-10 pick whether he played at Pitt or USC. This is about money and a bunch of the national writers try to act like it's a non or minimal factor. (Full story linked)
