got the right coach and got the 26th ranked class so far. Detractors always would say about the recruiting base etc. If you get a proven coach there w/ that support it can be done.
his philosophy is building at the Ol's and Dl's , can't compare Ruhle to FrostThey got a good coach, and he's going to the right base and the traditional base of nebraska recruits. I have no doubt he will bring a winning tradition back to nebraska.
when it comes to recruiting, I look at other things besides the overall team rankings. I look to seee if all positions of need are covered, and I look to see what other schools were recruiting the same players.
I've seen some recruiting classes heavily inflated by recruiting multiple highly ranked players at the same position. how great is a recruiting class when you already have a 4 star receiver and you recruit 5 more 4/5 star receivers? the overall ranking looks awesome, but the reality is 2-3 of those 4 star receivers will never play a down. Subtract those two receivers from your ranking, and your class doesn't look that great.
if nebraska goes back to the big ole offensive lines, and balamced attack, and talnted defense, they will do well. Frost had some great players, but they were not suited for success against the powerhouse BIG 10 style of play teams.
and admitedly, Nebraska lost a lot of games they should have won by player mistakes, and bad coaching decisions. The talent was there. the execution was not.
I’m comparing him to the previous successful at Nebraska, not Frost. He will bring Nebraska to the success they once had! Frost and his philosophy was a bad match for Nebraska football. It would be like Brohm coaching Oklahoma! It just wouldn’t workhis philosophy is building at the Ol's and Dl's , can't compare Ruhle to Frost
sorry i was replying to hausta w/ the frost commentI’m comparing him to the previous successful at Nebraska, not Frost. He will bring Nebraska to the success they once had! it could happen. however, if he makes nebraska a powerhouse once more, I believe Nebraska will pay him as much as any NFL coach is making. What's the likelihood he turns them around then hears the siren call of the NFL again in 3 or 4 years?
yea, he already had a taste of Pro ball, think he learnedit could happen. however, if he makes nebraska a powerhouse once more, I believe Nebraska will pay him as much as any NFL coach is making.
