Painter made a deal with Biggie's guardian to play Swanigan at the 4 a set number of minutes, and that's why he's not at MSU. The team is so much better with Vince at the 4 and Biggie at the 5 position, but Painter mind-numbingly keeps playing the "Biggest Shoes" lineup.

Or maybe Painter is just a bad game manager and that's why he's never advanced past the sweet 16. Thoughts?

Yes I have a thought, none of the above. People are looking for something that just does not exist.

This theory probably belongs on info-wars.
The team only has 2 people who should be playing center so you are going to have to get used to seeing Hass. He hasn't been playing up to his potential, but he still brings some good things and I expect he will show even better things as the year goes on.

You really should watch games before commenting. Unless you did, in which case you may be better off just not commenting at all.

There was no deal but there's no doubt that he switched to Purdue largely because of Hammons and Haas. There was/is no chance he's the 5 when he was/is on the court with either one of those two. Swanigan and Barnes want to play the 4 but I don't think there's any mandate that he has to play with Haas for any certain portion of each game. Most teams in the country play without a traditional center and the skills that Swanigan needs to display to be a 4 in the NBA can be displayed with or without Haas on the court. It's not as if we make him park himself on the block and stay in the paint when Haas is out of the game.

The fact of the matter is that Haas has struggled recently and the simpleton solution of people here on the board is just to bury him on the bench. CMP realizes that Haas is valuable when playing well and you just don't forget a player just because they struggle. You have to give them opportunities to work through it.
