This is our team, and has been for the past few years. Last night, I thought there were some players who had solid games, but as a team, we are still not good. For those who thought our bench would be a strength, it isn't. The Sophomore class has regressed...nothing out of Scott and Smotherman this year. Without Octeus, we may not have a win in the conference.
The "we are young" excuse is bullshit. Illinois beat us last night with their top three contributors being 2 Sophs and a Freshman. We just aren't very good, and I don't see how next year will be significantly better with the two kids we have coming in. More role players on a team of all role players.
Very frustrating...was going to drive down Saturday for the Iowa game with my boys, but after last night's game, I will stay home and spend my money doing something more enjoyable with them.
