I think what frustrates fans about Purdue BB is that Purdue is in a position to be a top 10 program with the right recruiter/coach. It isn't happening in football anytime soon. Go pay the hottest NFL coaching prospect 5 million to coach Purdue and it would be a 3-4 year process to get to the top 15-20
Go pay Brad Stevens, Shaka Smart, etc 4-5 million a year to win championships and one to two recruiting classes can put you back to the top. With Purdue's history and the BIG conference, investing in a big name should be worth the risk. Purdue is losing so much more right now with damage to its brand and missing post season opportunities.
Basketball is a sport where Purdue can turn it around with a recruiter or a big name coach with a top assistant recruiter. Enough trying to piece meal a scrappy old fashioned Purdue defensive happy juggernaut. It's boring and you are losing fans.
