Not much different from reasonable and honest fans of Purdue a few years ago.
You gotta have faith.......
Not so sure about that.
A few years ago most reasonable and honest Purdue fans were packing the stadium once again, were rather excited about the job Brohm was doing, and were seeing significant (and, sometimes, subtle) progress.
Did we see a vocal minority show up after every loss, and crow about even the slightest piece of negative news? Sure. Looking back now, (and for some of us at that time) they clearly didn't represent "reasonable and honest fans".
Brohm took over a program in complete disarray and brought order, stability, and success.
Allen has taken a fairly stable program into disarray, with no indication of order, stability, and with very little to show for his time at the helm.
The situations are night and day.
I'm all for having faith. Hells bells, I'd imagine being an IU football fan would require an immense level of faith.
EDIT: After going back and re-reading some of your comments (and, after a 2nd cup of coffee), overall I think your assessments are fairly even-handed, but somewhat ... "blind"? ... by the absolutely devastating condition of the IU program. Not to pile on, but the massive exodus of players and coaches would (and should) be concerning to even the most casual IU Football fan.
With that said, Allen has also signed a respectable (if not 'suspect') recruiting class.
Final thought on this post... I can't see how being a "destination program" for the transfer portal is a recipe for success going forward. Ten (10) transfers from respectable programs should cause a fair amount of concern, IMHO.
