The only Tom Allen Stat you need to know

Maybe they can call some of their boosters and get the money to hire Nick Saban away from Alabama. Or maybe Belichick.
Don’t give Mark Cuban any ideas. I’m sure that he could offer both $100M/5yrs to be co-HCs. Not saying that they’d do it but they’re life-long friends so let’s not give them any ideas either as they wind their careers down… 😉

Not much different from reasonable and honest fans of Purdue a few years ago.

You gotta have faith.......
Not so sure about that.

A few years ago most reasonable and honest Purdue fans were packing the stadium once again, were rather excited about the job Brohm was doing, and were seeing significant (and, sometimes, subtle) progress.

Did we see a vocal minority show up after every loss, and crow about even the slightest piece of negative news? Sure. Looking back now, (and for some of us at that time) they clearly didn't represent "reasonable and honest fans".

Brohm took over a program in complete disarray and brought order, stability, and success.

Allen has taken a fairly stable program into disarray, with no indication of order, stability, and with very little to show for his time at the helm.

The situations are night and day.

I'm all for having faith. Hells bells, I'd imagine being an IU football fan would require an immense level of faith.

EDIT: After going back and re-reading some of your comments (and, after a 2nd cup of coffee), overall I think your assessments are fairly even-handed, but somewhat ... "blind"? ... by the absolutely devastating condition of the IU program. Not to pile on, but the massive exodus of players and coaches would (and should) be concerning to even the most casual IU Football fan.

With that said, Allen has also signed a respectable (if not 'suspect') recruiting class.

Final thought on this post... I can't see how being a "destination program" for the transfer portal is a recipe for success going forward. Ten (10) transfers from respectable programs should cause a fair amount of concern, IMHO.

I just don’t understand using the mass exodus of coaches against Allen. Didn’t Purdue also lose three coaches this year? One can argue they all went to equal or lower jobs.

I'm not surprised. You can argue what you like, and you're welcome to do so.

Interesting that, of everything I posted, that was your rebuttal.

When a struggling program has significant losses of players and programs, it should be cause for concern. If IU fans aren't concerned, I'm good with it.

Never said I wasn’t concerned. We went 2-10 last year. I sure hope there are changes made. Are you concerned about the Purdue coaches jumping ship?

Not lower jobs. Name one coach who took a lower job and put together a logical explanation why it is lower.

I said EQUAL or lower. So you think Wake Forest is above Purdue? If that is how you feel then that is your right.
They are at worst equal. Lambert was co-DC at Purdue sharing duties with two others with a long history at wake forest. He now moves home with his wife was is THE OC. If he didn’t take it I think brohm would have fired him for stupidity and so he doesn’t get divorced.

I think a critical stat of Tom Allen is that he is 1-3 versus Brohm, despite having the better team on paper( recruiting ranking wise) three times…perhaps all four times

He’s also been outscored by Brohm by 45 points in those 4 games

IU scored a TD with less than 2 minutes to go in each of CJB's first 2 wins over IU, or would be 59.

Why would you guys ever be critical of tom Allen or Scott frost. Please please please whenever you talk to fans from either school, even if they are 0-12, just with a straight face can you be like “yeah I know the huskers were 3-9 but we think Scott frost is underrated. We secretly fear him!”
You just have to tell their fans that “they need to give Frost/Allen enough time”

(it’s the same thing that every intelligent big ten football fan was saying to Purdue during the Purple Haze reign)
