The Memphis staff sure seem thrilled to get Zach. Appears to be a perfect place for him, for many reasons. All the best to him and the Griz.
Edey would have been wasted there.
Doc Rivers is a horrible coach who has been riding the coattails of his one championship from the first “super team” that started the “super teams” movement in the NBA. Has been atrocious besides that.
Glad Zach went to Memphis. A team that really wanted him and has a lot better pieces than Portland. Portland tends to pick big men who have injury histories and this was no different. Hope Clingan stays healthy, but Portland has been cursed since they didn’t take Jordan (in their defense they had Drexler already).
Portland was told to take Jordan, so that's their fault. Bobby told them to pick him. They didn't listen. But I do think Edey is in a good spot and it isn't a rebuilding team. It's a legitimate top 4 seed type of team.
They said we need a center and Bobby said then put Jordan at center! Ha
Not true. They did everything in their power to "Show" interest in Clingan to keep other people guessing. Zach was always the guy they wanted.
there's a video with the GM smiling slyly when asked if they deeked other teams about their interest in Clingan.

Nevermind...had to Google it. You meant deked. Another word I've never heard before. That means decoy. I guess deeked works too because it's slang for IDK (I don't know).
It’s a hockey term. The equivalent of an ankle breaker in basketball.
ahhh spelling. It used to be used a fair amount in football commentary when someone juked or faked out a defender. Now that's "broke his ankles"
