The IU fan reaction to Edey being named CPOY is priceless

God bless putting that clown on ignore weeks ago. Highly recommend. I can tell he's still spewing the same nonsense. Midwit intelligence, zero self-awareness or self-reflection.

Edey #1, TJD #2, both outstanding years, I guarentee 90% of IU fans would admit Edey deserved the award. It’s not hard stuff, Purdue won the league.
Those booger eating morons can't decide which frozen TV dinner to eat, let alone decipher statistics.

He doesn't have anything. Didn't go to iu. Not sure if he even went to college. Possibly still in high school.
He is hopelessly dumb and arrogant to boot, which is a really bad combination.

I am a person who really believes in free expression of ideas and debate. I believe that rational people should be able to post without penalty or ban. But I have to admit that this guy is pushing the envelope of what is acceptable.

My problem with him is that he's not occasionally amusing. He doesn't always need to be amusing, but at least now and then would be an improvement.

It was tongue and cheek and I honestly do not consider them to be one anymore - I don’t care if you won 50 championships if your last one is 1987 and you have been pretty mediocre at best since then - what is the standard? My kids who are 16 and 13 know who is the better program and it’s not close right now. They have barely seen IU in the tournament since they’ve been following college hoops.
The clown pants are embarrassing enough, but I see they also have stars on their rear ends. Is that some kind of warped homage to Ass Hall?

Yea I am the arrogant one lol. I don't know if I've met fans more arrogant. "I went to Purdue so I'm better than you." "Look at what I did in college because I'm better than you." Might want to look in a mirror.

You left out IU's three Helms titles.
In the days of football prior to the BCS championship, voters in the AP and UPI polls voted for national champions. In some years they were split among two teams; in others, both polls ended similarly. However, when they both ended up the same way, the team and the nation did not count that as two, only one.

I haven't bothered to look, so if you got a Helms in a year that you did not get another national championship, feel free to count it. However, don't double count for the same year.

However, also understand that prior to the early/mid-1960s, the NIT was thought more prestigious and thus regarded as more representative of a national championship. By my rudimentary count, that places IU with 3 to Purdue's 1, but if you have a Helms in a non-NCAA year, add it to the sum.

What I always find interesting is IU fans' desire to effectively back-date NCAA championships into national championships. Using the recent regard of the NCAA at present to equalize it to the early years. While simultaneously criticizing the Helms award as being back-dated. The logical inconsistency is amazing to observe.

No, I do not consider myself better than you because I went to Purdue. Some of the most intelligent and capable people that I have met never finished high school. They were, however, intellectually curious and interested in learning. They carefully thought about things and sought to learn new ideas. They did not throw out nonsense and claim it was worthwhile. They listened to what others said and wrote. That made them radically different from you.

And getting back to the beginning, you still never understood what I was saying about TJD or the CPOY race. Literally at any point did you have the ability to understand. So you clearly wasted money at some point getting that fancy piece of paper.

Written like the foolish anti-intellectual that you are.

Here's the point: all you have to do is read this thread and you will see that effectively everyone else (as judged by the commentary) came to the same conclusion regarding your posts that I did. When you are trying to communicate an idea, and the readers all come to a conclusion about your post that you didn't intend, then the problem in the communication resides with you and not them.

Your fallback of then resorting to insult and disparagement then makes you look like a juvenile.

Methinks you protest too much. You are spending so much time backtracking on your point about TJD that you are making yourself look worse with each post. And I didn't think that could be possible, but you continue to spiral down. And now you are letting your emotions get the best of you.

If you had any sense of self-awareness, you would stop, take a breath, and try to start over.

Literally at any point did you have the ability to understand.
That is literally a convoluted statement that only a nitwit would make, thinking it is an insult.

Go back to the clownpants forum where you belong, Rong, and take HoosierHysteria with you.

You are so lacking in self-confidence that you can't get enough on your own site... so you come to your rival's site to beg on your knees and try to gain some self-confidence ... but alas, it takes self-confidence to get a degree from Purdue. Oh wait, I forgot, you aren't an IU grad ... sorry

Reading this made my head hurt. 🤷‍♂️

Ok, I'll admit, I do think I'm better than someone because I went to Purdue.

I had heard that the stars on the back side of the clown pants were a suggestion from Jared of Subway fame. Something about a target audience I suppose.
In Jared's case, aren't the players too old to be of interest? Perhaps I am wrong.

I would have to know the criteria for “better” for any decision. I do however think Purdue provided the tools for better understanding than most

There are occasions when that becomes obvious, especially when fans from other schools come hear simply to get attention.

And Edey plays for Purdue. Or are they separate?
Agree. By that logic he was 3-5 vs Purdue for his career. Also trails Purdue in conference championships, NCAAT appearances, NCAAT wins, the list goes on.

So his career against Purdue was roughly winning 3/8 or 37.5%. It shouldn't have been that high for obvious reasons, but it was. Now compared to historic data, his winning percentage is down from the historic 92/217 or 42.4% for IUvsPurdue to 37.5% (him@IU).

For the youngsters out there, this is the way it has been and will probably lean more to Purdue the next decade or so, where for every two games of basketball that IU wins, Purdue wins three. Still, the basketball history isn't as dominant as the football where IU wins 42/118 or 35.6% real close to his basketball number, but down several points for IU overall against Purdue in basketball.

Oh, I don't know. I find him occasionally amusing. It's unintentional, I know.

But he does take himself way too seriously.
