But the whole staff has a proven track record and I expect the Purdue coaching staff to be one of the better staffs in the Big Ten.
Really? Now that is one shot of optimism. All I can say is wow.
I would have liked to see a bigger name for DC that could have brought some flips over with them. But the whole staff has a proven track record and I expect the Purdue coaching staff to be one of the better staffs in the Big Ten. Once the wins start happening, better recruits will fall in line. Academics will occasionally be a hinderance, but CJB should maximize what he has.
Tim DeRuyter was available but he recently got the new DC job at Cal.The DC is highly respected and a former HC...outside of the guys at major programs right now, I'm not sure Brohm could have done better...if he could have, I'm sure he would have reeled him in. I think Diacco was probably the only viable solution I think could be better.

Academics can also be a plus. A big reason Elijah Sindelar chose Purdue is that he wanted to study electrical engineering.
Look at Nick Holt's background at USC (under Pete Carroll) and Washington. He's had strong success in the past.I would have liked to see a bigger name for DC that could have brought some flips over with them. Since DeRuyter had some choice in his career he's been back home out west. I think it would have been a tough sell to get him to move to the midwest.Tim DeRuyter was available but he recently got the new DC job at Cal.
