It's always better to have time to reflect on a stinging loss and perhaps the worse loss in Boilermaker history AFTER some time has passed.
1) The frenetic pace at which their comeback was mounted seemed to confuse everyone, including the coaches. This cannot happen and shows complete and total immaturity as far as being battle tested and prepared.
2) Overtime was unnecessary if we would have used proven logic and fouled UALR
3) The sun will rise over West Lafayette from the east this morning
4) Painter needs some extended-stay coaching clinics this off-season
5) Isaac Haas & Co. need a prolific point-guard to provide the dimes and dishes
6) Everyone! Please step back from the ledge!
7) Don't listen to Mike & Mike this morning because they are hammering Purdue & especially Painter

As a Hawk fan I root hard for every B1G team in the post season. This loss was extremely disappointing for our fan base even more as it allows our in-state rival and freaking Big12 team to a complete cake-walk to the sweet 16. ISU will beat ARK LR by 20. ARK LA made some ridiculous shots down the stretch that will never go in the next game and that white haired ref was brutally bad (probably Big 12 ref).

I thought Painter got completely out-coached down the stretch. Some of the plays he drew up were very Iowa'esque of the late game chokes that we are known for under Fran.

Most disturbing is you had a massive size advantage but kept Swannigan & Haas on the bench the last 5 minutes of regulation and almost all of both OTs. This allowed ARK LR to constantly double Hammonds and he got virtually no touches. That's unreal! You should have been able to go high-low or set up back side lobs with that kind of attention paid to Hammonds but Painter went and stayed small. It was painful to watch when all you needed was a couple of buckets and the best option was to get it inside with the height difference.

I am sorry guys - we feel your pain and will probably feel your pain even more today after we tank too.

looks like Iowa is hanging tough. Last I check the they were up by 2 or so

the sting has now been completely removed. middle tenn. state beat Michigan state to completely validate Purdue getting beat by UALR and parity in the country. I am so glad that Painter is now vindicated

Moral of the story, if you can't beat Iowa you aren't good enough to get out of the first round. Hard to argue with that.

this is true. iowa was just a mess for a while too, however, we decided to be a mess against lowly University of Arkansas--at Little Rock, from a coaching perspective maybe the worst game I've ever seen and from a personnel perspective, some of the worse play all season. ARGH!!! Iowa has gotten their act together and should go on a nice run now --- GOOD LUCK, I think you will do well and you have a magnificent coach in Fran McCaffery
