Does it get to 20 and then have two Big divisions with home and home games once again inside each division with a couple or so crossovers and then division champs play each other with a bit more rest to prepare for the tourney?Do I have a motion for 20?
Cal added King Doerue tooIf academics instead of football had anything to do with it, they would have added Stanford and Cal Berkeley.
Just Purdue or several others also that are not up to their lofty standards?
The poppers are a brand? Who would have thunk it?What B10 teams do you care about
Pick one from each category as a team you're most intrigued to be playing, beating and/or visiting for the years to come.hardcorehusky.com
I know…looks like we found our next life jacket recipient who lives in the tuiasasopo eraThe poppers are a brand? Who would have thunk it?
There's a long line of teams that would like that trip during break. No way to get them all in.Hoops travel issues can be mitigated by playing the longest-distance games during the holidays when classes are out - and in the case of vball, swimming, etc, just not playing some teams at all except maybe during a tournament.
This would be a good time to dump the tedious BTN hoops tournament and just finish the season with games against nearby rivals so teams would be fresher for March madness.
Not that any of these ideas will be considered since the networks are in charge of it all.
I could see a west and east champion playing for the conference championship.....$$$ then the b10 tourney$$$$.Hoops travel issues can be mitigated by playing the longest-distance games during the holidays when classes are out - and in the case of vball, swimming, etc, just not playing some teams at all except maybe during a tournament.

Rutgers, for example, could take a west coast trip in late Dec. and play 2 or 3 road games. Likewise for MD, PSU, and others. There's a long line of teams that would like that trip during break. No way to get them all in.
That is the extreme downside to this. The small budget sports now have huge increases in expenses. Surely the schedules will be set like the Pac-12 used to do it themselves, so that may help. Road trips to Oregon AND Washington. UCLA and USC.Had to be partially for scheduling purposes. Still think it's going to be tough in that regard for bball and volleyball
Acc is next. There's no way around it. Divide them up between big 10 and sec. Leftovers end up in b12 and some in the cold. Aac gets a boost like the mountain west maybe.I could see the big 10 expanding to 24 teams just as easily as 20 teams. Academic credibility or geography are no longer factors for inclusion. It’s all about market share, name recognition and money! I can foresee both the sec and big 10 stealing teams away from the acc next as universities look at the cost of doing business verses the potential revenue. Revenue has now become the #1 factor.
They'll get it figured out.Rutgers, for example, could take a west coast trip in late Dec. and play 2 or 3 road games. Likewise for MD, PSU, and others.
USC, for example, could take an east coast trip in early Jan and play 2-3 road games.
Home & away series between West and East coast teams would have to be outlawed.
Games in non-rev sports between West and East would have to be restricted or banished.
I have no doubt the networks will get it figured out. They'll get it figured out.
