That was deleted quick

I think YOU are jumping to conclusions that this would be about playing time. May or may not be and someone posting on a fan board really owes you no explanation. Here’s to hoping if there are issues, that they get resolved. If nothing else I think we all perceive Nojel to be a great kid and that does not happen by accident.
Nojel is a great kid very well liked by all that know him great teammate and respectful in every way He has nothing to do with what was said I did all this its on me I made the comment out of frustration so be mad at at his mom not him he is doing what is ask of him on and off the court. I’m moving on it’s a new day. Go boiler football get that W

Well said and I think that should tie a bow around the issue. Now...POTFH!!!!!

I think it's safe to say that after the first 2 games in the Bahama's we were all upset. We were all questioning what happened and why; expecting we would lose the next 2 games against Arizona and Louisville. The turkey didn't taste good this year. I haven't missed a game (even just listening to radio when not on TV) in 15 years and i was so sick to my stomach after those 2 games that I wasn't going to watch the Arizona game. I can't imagine how I would have felt if my son played on the team. 2 minutes before game time I changed my mind and I'm glad I did. That was our team playing last night.

If that poster is really that player's mom, then wow. Saying your kid is going to transfer 7 games in on a night where your kid got minutes in a blowout win against the second ranked team in the nation just makes you look bad. Did I say bad? I meant makes you look incredibly selfish and unreasonable.

That poster has to be a troll, because it's hard to believe there would be a parent out there that shortsighted.
If he's going to transfer....leave now. Why keep a disruption in the program and CMP can use the schollie.

There was a thread titled Eastern, about 2-3hours ago, and Easterns Mom came on and posted that we should enjoy Nojel now, cause he won’t be here next year, she admitted she was mad and upset, and shouldn’t of posted on here, then the entire thread was deleted
A parent or a player should never read a message board, nor should they ever post on one. And mom should never be mom on a message board. If true, she just made her son look like a spoiled brat.

As a long-time coach, if the kid is unhappy he/she needs to go to the coach first. Parents need to shut up, support their kid and encourage him to work harder to get more playing time because the last I heard, playing time is like respect....it's earned, not given. But then, a lot of today's college kids and their parents believe Little Johnny and Little Jane are entitled. All things being equal, I'll play that upperclassman over the frosh.

I’m no overrated parent sir I have my reasons how I feel and you sir have no clue with what’s going on. I’ve never been concerned about stats at all nether has my son he just plays basketball since u no so much. My mistake was putting my business on this board for that I was out of line bcuz I’m so mad and I’m moving on from this post and will move on from this this topic. Don’t judge me when you have no clue who I am except on this board. but I put it out there and I never should have done that out of frustration.

This program wants and needs Nojel and your family. His time to be a stud will come.

Give her a break. As someone else said, after the first two games in the tournament I was read to throw a brick through my TV. And I have no connection to the team other than the years I spent there in the 80’s. It must be worse to be related to a player. I think the OT Tennessee game was a bad Jedi mind trick to the team when the were playing the Hilltoppers. Better to have those losses earlier than later. If we take care of business against Louisville all is ok and the future is bright.

The one thing I've always liked about CMP is that he plays no favorites, and outside influences have no bearing on that. If ANY player is good enough to EARN playing time, they'll get it. I'm sure he's been made aware of the post already.

Probably this year, too. He just needs to get into the flow of major division 1 competition. He'll be flying to the rack like Barlow in no time. Just gotta clean up the handles and that probably comes with confidence more than anything else.

As I said...parents and players need to stay away from message boards where a post can directly influence what happens to the kid. No one player is more important than another, and the kid who is a practice player is just as important as that kid who's going to sign a million dollar contract. It's about one thing....the sum of the collective parts that make a TEAM.

Ouch! This is why I don't talk much about my son! He's a member of a top 20 ranked NCAA track team! I'm proud of him! If he wins the NCAA in his event, I'll brag about him. Until then, I'll stick to arguing about basketball and football!

Congrats to your son. The dedication it takes to perform on the field and in the classroom isn't understood by many.

Get a life dude you have no idea what’s going on and for the record I made the comment not my son he has nothing to do with the comment I made. I no who and what my son is capable off and I no what he is doing in practices and this situation I will deal with I just made the utmost bad decision airing my frustration on this board. Direct to incentive comment to me I’m a big girl I can handle ur rude remarks. My son is a great kid that’s is working his butt off doing what is told of him. He can play and he’s really good but I’m moving on from it park your brakes before you judge someone. I have freedom of speech to say what I want wherever I want it should not have been on this board that is a mistake that won’t happen again.

His handles are fine he can play he will continue to work and get better is what he is all about.

This is not the place to post your frustrations. You are doing your son NO favors by doing so.

Nothing said on this board has influenced me in what I said. I made the comment my son didn’t he is totally innocent in all of this a bad decision on my part to vent on a message board and now I’ll deal with the negative remarks I will get for saying what I said. I have the freedom of speech to give my opinion whether I’m a parent or not just like you do. I’m done with it now I’m moving on

you can't really believe that. (think raphael davis)

everyone has favorites.

I acknowledge that poor decision on my part but you are also not in my shoes either but I’ll admit bad bad decision on my part I’m moving on from it

84 minutes (8th most on team)
16 turnovers (most on team)

He appears to be a player whose game is predicated on dribbling around defenders and getting to the rim. Easy to do in high school and AAU - nearly impossible at the high D1 level. Will be a big adjustment for him to learn to not dribble so much; pass more; move off the ball; and play under control.

For comparision's sake - PJ's numbers:
199 minutes (2nd most on team)
4 turnovers (8th most on team)

And ur point he will be fine this i no. PJ is a great player and his numbers speak for themselves. Case closed

Let it go and it's over. Not a big deal in the scheme of things. Great win last night, build on it and like was stated, go Purdue football today. Still can be a great 24 hours for both teams.

And Nojel will improve. He’s a freshman - the jump from HS to freshman D1 hoops is HUGE. it takes time.

The first semester of college is difficult for every single parent and child. As fans, we need to remember that sometimes emotions can bubble over. Let's not get worked up about this, and just let it go. Nojel has the talent to be a great, maybe even an all-time great Boilermaker. Right now he is still working on translating his game to the major conference level. Remember, every freshman, even Biggie, goes through some growing pains. Next season, I fully expect him and Carsen to be one of the most-feared guard combinations in the Big Ten.

Finally, remember that we are just extremely passionate fans, but this is her son and when your kids are involved emotions run high. Don't judge.

many here have previously expressed concern about the boards providing a public perception of the program. and how it can affect current and future recruiting.

I wasn't exactly in that camp before, but can definitely see how this place could have reverberating effects (that sometimes cant be undone)

Its not a big deal if he's in a boiler uni next yr. Its quite a big deal if mom makes good on the declaration made in the late hours of last night some of us were exposed to before thread deletion.

Thank you for saying this. This should apply to everyone. Don't post stuff out of frustration.

I've said on Facebook many times, once you post something on the internet, it can never be deleted! Even if you try to delete it, people will remember it, copy it , and repost it!

We now have two threads dedicated to talking about the contents of a thread that was deleted further proving my point! The more you try to deny or hide something, the more unwanted attention you bring to it!

So how about unlocking that Lavar verses trump thread? I had a couple more thoughts I didn't get to share!

Dude? I stand by my posts in regard to this situation and they were in no way rude. Every kid on the PU team can play, and in most cases was the stud on their HS team, and I believe every parent should stay off forums. I say that as a coach who sent or helped send several players to the next level, and as a parent who had two sons heavily recruited and a grandson in his first year of collegiate athletics. If your son comes back or leaves should be up to him...and while he's special to you, he's no more important to the team than even the walk on practice player.

And it's great that you admitted you screwed up.

A social message board lesson we all need to learn. Sometimes in the heat of passion we all just need to stay away until that moment passes.
