Missed a bunny....5' shot..short...cost us at a crucial timeHe has the best shot selection in the history of Purdue basketball.
Should not be taking a shot with the game on the line. I don't care how open he is. This team obviously hasn't been coached to know what to do at the end of a close game on either end of the floor.Missed a bunny....5' shot..short...cost us at a crucial time

How so? We gave up a 3 at the end of reg. and missed at the end of ot. Do you really want pj taking the last shot over any of the other 4?This qualifies as as stupid, emotional statement.

It was forced and not a good shot, and, he is likely the 5th option for that matter as well...so, while it did not qualify as a horrible shot by any means, it was not a good shot...and it was not the guy you wanted taking a contested or forced shot either.I was fine with him taking the 10 foot open jumper there. Yes.
Also your statement about the coaching was the particularly idiotic one.
We'll have to agree to disagree... CMP's game coaching is horrible and we will continue to be early exits as long as he's on the bench. But I love how his supporters always use words like stupid and idiotic... To support him. Very telling.I was fine with him taking the 10 foot open jumper there. Yes.

didn't know we were already in March and the tourney had started...damn, must have Rip Van Winkle'd Thanksgiving, Xmas, New Years, my birthday, my oldest's birthday, and Groundhog's Day....sheesh.We'll have to agree to disagree... Very childish, but expected. It should be telling to you but unfortunately you don't quite get the reason it is telling.
I have my reservations about Painter and in game coaching, but who do you think we can get. Are only option is stay the course, and maybe he learns as well. I just don’t think we would get a better coach to come to Purdue. At least we know he is running a clean program. We'll have to agree to disagree... OH WOW. Now we need a new coach?I have my reservations about Painter and in game coaching, but who do you think we can get. Are only option is stay the course, and maybe he learns as well. It's pretty sad to think that guy may actually be an adult. Has the emotional/mental capacity of a 12 year old.Very childish, but expected.
4 years of the worst football seasons in Purdue history?Look how he football program finally turned it around

That's because we went cheap and settled. Better search involved with JB4 years of the worst football seasons in Purdue history?

BUT, .. who is the Brohm of the basketball world????Look how he football program finally turned it around
Let's fire Painter. You agree?Should not be taking a shot with the game on the line. I don't care how open he is. This team obviously hasn't been coached to know what to do at the end of a close game on either end of the floor.
-Other than Dakota, Yes.How so? We gave up a 3 at the end of reg. and missed at the end of ot. Do you really want pj taking the last shot over any of the other 4?
I wouldn't want him taking it because of exactly what happened today. PJ is a nice role player and pg. he's not a great shooter inside the arc. At 5-9, his shot inside the arc always looks rushed, probably because he's used to getting it blocked. Honestly, I wouldn't have even had him in at the end of regulation on d when UT needed a 3 to tie. He's way to easy to shoot over. Nothing against PJ, he probably played better than anyone today, but I still don't want him taking the last shot. VE or CE have to be option 1a and 1b. If we still lose, I can live with it.-Other than Dakota, Yes.
-I've watched darn near every game PJ has played in a Purdue uniform. Without hesitation, Yes- I want PJ taking that open shot. I'm seriously wondering why you wouldn't?
-This game reminded me a lot of that Arkansas Little Rock game. Particularly with Dakota stepping up and hitting the big 3 in OT- only to have far too many empty possessions down the stretch.
-Additionally, it reminded me of the Arkansas Little Rock game because Purdue was up 3 with time running down in regulation, and let the opposing team hit a 3 to go into overtime.
-I am wondering if CMP will re-think his strategy at the end of a game, up 3, on defense. We tend to recall the times when it burns Purdue, but I'm not sure I would want Tennessee in the position of getting an offensive rebound after a made FT either.
-Up 3 on defense... and you know a 3 is coming. No hedge on the ball screen. Not even a switch. The guy got a 3 point contest look. That's hideous.
-Purdue will get better and tougher after this game.

We haven't played anyone yet. Watch his jumper when he gets in the lane, he either rushes it, like he did today, or he looks around and hesitates. He's much more comfortable when the defense is in front of him, shooting the 3. JMO... 5th option with the game on the line.He is shooting 56% from the field inside the arc. Next to Mathias I trust PJ more than any of the other guys.
Agree to disagree. He still shoots in the mid 40's from inside the arc. If PJ is open he is getting the green light. We haven't played anyone yet. Agree. Defender couldn't stop when PJ did and left him a lot of space. PJ hesitated just a tick, he wasn't expecting to be that open.PJ was just surprised to be that wide open. Happens all the time. He takes another half second I still think he gets a clean look but he knocks it down.
So not only would you not trust our starting point guard to take the final shot, you would not have even had him in the game on defense on the final possession?I wouldn't want him taking it because of exactly what happened today. Doubling down on the Painter hate. Nice.
This. Sean miller singled out PJ as a reason Purdue dominated. I watched the game again last night. If you think it is intelligent to dis PJ, watch that game again and focus on what he does. If you are basing your opinion on the box score, you will be amazed at what you see.IMO, PJ is an excellent point guard. Having played that position myself:
1. his turnovers are very low
2. he's an excellent passer
3. he plays tough D (wish he were a bit taller, but that's something he has no control over)
4. he usually hits FT's (even during crunch time)
5. he's hit several key 3's at crucial times in the past
6. he almost NEVER forces a shot (he did force up one 3 early in the second half, but usually he's spot on).
7. he understands the flow of the game, and works to get it to a hot player
8. he's got a great disposition
9. he's a leader
If you want to have the wrong opinion, help yourself.
That is all.
(notice, I didn't call anybody any names)
Wow. Hard to believe you are satisfied with 6-5 record. Then you should love what Painter is doing.Look how he football program finally turned it around
