Thanks CMP, The Hits Keep On Coming..

Are you a blogger? I ask because I'm wondering why you took the comment personally.

I don't believe you have ever been on Purdue's campus. Do you really think everyone attended Purdue to major in engineering? I have seen you make this comment more than once, along with other completely misinformed comments. You have outed yourself.
We either have the whiniest, most uninformed fan base in college basketball, or we have a lot of trolls on this board…

So you’d rather be Minnesota and have no one talking about you?

Right now, no coverage would be better than this coverage is my point. No one suggested that we are or want to be Minnesota. For example, the national media isn't talking about IU, Duke, Kansas and their losses. That is where I'd rather be RIGHT NOW than I would what we are receiving. There is absolutely nothing positive about this kind of coverage. I really don't understand why you don't want to recognize that?

I think maybe some of the "newer" posters have you wound up and you just can't recognize when someone is making a point and not trolling. If you or anyone else can give me a real, tangible example of how this negative coverage is good for our basketball future I'd like to hear what it is.

If I was a blogger, I’d be writing my opinions in my blog not on the Purdue Rivals forum.

But I’ll bite: yes I did go to Purdue. I just found it a bit odd that Pally Here kept using the word “nerd” as an insult, when Purdue is full of engineers (also referred to as “nerds” by other majors).

Not really Savy of him to insult and alienate a large part of the fan base.

You didn’t demand that our B1G championship basketball coach be fired?
Stating an opinion and backing it up with solid circumstantial facts is very different from whining Pally. (BTW We’re still waiting on the list of schools you claimed were itching to hire your saviors)

If you are unable to differentiate the not so subtle difference, I suggest you read and converse a bit more.

I think you are having trouble comprehending the subtle nuances of the English language.

If I demanded something, to whom did I make that demand to?

Demanding =\= Stating an opinion on a public forum. Sorry to burst your bubble.

You wrote, "sounds like us “blogger boy nerds” have been getting under your skin". But "us" wasn't referring to you? In any case, I don't see how it refers to Purdue engineers.

I have worked my entire career with people with degrees in engineering, sciences, and computer science. None of them are insulted by the word "nerd". So why do you believe that someone using the term on a message board alienates a large part of the Purdue fan base?

If I understood you correctly:

1) I’m insulted by the word “nerd” => no not really, was merely pointing out that it could be potentially alienating to a good portion of the fan base.

2) the people you know are not insulted by the word “nerd” => Great! but there is a huge world outside of your circle. Just to clarify, I’m not insulted but would (for example) Patriots or Red Sox fans really appreciate it if you referred to their fan base as “chowder heads”?

3) the connotation behind your usage was meant as an insult, correct? You can’t have it both ways.

Hope that helps.

I believe I’ve already answered that question, Pally.

There is still a laundry list of answers we’re waiting on you for though (ie the list of schools lining up to hire your savior)

You didn’t ask that our B1G championship basketball coach be fired? Yes or No?

And if yes, replace him with who ?

I'm most concerned how it might negatively impact recruiting. Whether we agree, disagree or don't care about the negative press I think we can all agree it's not a good thing. There is nothing good about our program being put out there as chokers, poorly coached, tight we all know what is being said.

My personal feelings aside, all that matters really is does the negative press hurt us in getting who we want? If it doesn't, then I don't care. If it does, then it's a very big deal. But acting like ESPN or USA Today are not significant media entities is just being disingenuous. You may not like ESPN, I may not be crazy about them either, but no way are they insignificant. There is no other outlet in Sports that have the viewers (including young players) that ESPN has. Fox doesn't have anything to compare to it.
Exactly.....Big time, you think a kid wants to tell people he's going to Chokermaker U....geeezzz...."hell to the No"

Whew. The only thing that was confirmed is that you have been unable to string together a full, coherent sentence in all of your posts on this board.
