Thanks CMP, The Hits Keep On Coming..

ESPN? >yawn<
Thanks BoilerInChiTown. If it wasn't for you, no one else would have known that crappy channel ever mentioned Purdue.
Last time I checked, ESPN was the most read and watched sports news outlet in the world currently. I think their influence has a bit more weight than some 'crappy channel'.

A bunch of blogger boy nerds are making fun of us! Oh noes !
I'm most concerned how it might negatively impact recruiting. Whether we agree, disagree or don't care about the negative press I think we can all agree it's not a good thing. There is nothing good about our program being put out there as chokers, poorly coached, tight we all know what is being said.

My personal feelings aside, all that matters really is does the negative press hurt us in getting who we want? If it doesn't, then I don't care. If it does, then it's a very big deal. But acting like ESPN or USA Today are not significant media entities is just being disingenuous. You may not like ESPN, I may not be crazy about them either, but no way are they insignificant. There is no other outlet in Sports that have the viewers (including young players) that ESPN has. Fox doesn't have anything to compare to it.

sounds like us “blogger boy nerds” have been getting under your skin … Pally.

In case you didn’t know : our school is an engineering school, were you not an engineer yourself? (I noticed our rivals down south like to call Purdue grads “nerds”)

I guess you meant that as an insult but (purely) hypothetically, I’d rather be a “blogger boy soy boy snowflake nerd” than an obese fat and delusional piece like yourself.

Hmmmm….seems I touched a nerve….and I obviously wasn’t referring to you, but you seem to have internalized that…

You think one of these portal studs gives a flying hoot about what one of these social media dorks thinks of us? I personally do not.

They care a lot more about money, PT, and oh, money.

look at Pally with his classic case of projection.

World doesn’t revolve around you, you should practice some self care and get out once in a while.

I’m sure your monotonous “Pally” refrain seems quite witty in your head…

Why complain? Everyone should be happy with Painter’s great success in the tournament. If getting to the Final Four is so easy, then why have teams like Loyola, VCU, Wichita State, and South Carolina only made it once during Painter’s time at Purdue?
To him anyone complaining about a coach’s performance or has a differing opinion from him is apparently a “blogger nerd”.

Considering the fact that his post count completely eclipses all of ours combined and that he’s an obese man from middle of nowhere pally, there’s no point in trying to convince him otherwise.

Yeah the people that think ESPN is irrelevant are most likely part of the same camp that bitch that innovation is taking away their jobs.

Sometimes it doesn’t hurt to adapt, embrace and change when you keep getting the short end of the stick. But some people here seem to think that blindly supporting a coach that is the opposite of that is the long term solution.

It’s actually the ESPN nerds who are in danger of losing their jobs.

Like with the Painter school interest topic, or the Kansas game, I’m not here to educate you…
You're making quite bold claims but when prompted for supporting evidence or arguments you don't seem to have any.

The world doesn't run off your emotions, Pally.

I think young people pay a lot more attention to ESPN than either you or I.

I hope you're right. All I care about this negative coverage is how it affects us getting future talent.

I think this is it. Everyone in our company slack channels have been low key roasting Purdue, with 90% of our organization's brackets picking Purdue to be upset in the second round.

Although embarassing, can you blame them? Don't you want this to change?

I would also say that Bad PR is better than no PR.

Again, I sincerely apologize if my “blogger boy nerd” comment hit too close to home for you. Wasn’t intended for you, but seems you assume it was…

I think I understood you the last four times you've said that. I acknowledge that I've seen your 'insult' Pally and hope that makes you feel better :)

I couldn't disagree more with this.

Right now, we would be better served if nobody was talking about PU and that loss was just forgotten. There is no way you can put a positive spin on the coverage we are getting right now.
I stopped trying to convince him a long time ago. If you've been following, for being a "man" he runs off pure emotion and 0 logic.

So you’d rather be Minnesota and have no one talking about you?

Right now, no coverage would be better than this coverage is my point. No one suggested that we are or want to be Minnesota. For example, the national media isn't talking about IU, Duke, Kansas and their losses. That is where I'd rather be RIGHT NOW than I would what we are receiving. There is absolutely nothing positive about this kind of coverage. I really don't understand why you don't want to recognize that?

I think maybe some of the "newer" posters have you wound up and you just can't recognize when someone is making a point and not trolling. If you or anyone else can give me a real, tangible example of how this negative coverage is good for our basketball future I'd like to hear what it is.

I’ll put this is as simply as I can: I’d rather have the media talk about us losing in the NCAA than no one talking about us at all.

That’s what “bad PR is better than no PR” means.

Are you a blogger? I ask because I'm wondering why you took the comment personally.

I don't believe you have ever been on Purdue's campus. Do you really think everyone attended Purdue to major in engineering? I have seen you make this comment more than once, along with other completely misinformed comments. You have outed yourself.
