Tennessee focuses on Jeff Brohm for coaching vacancy...

http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/21607338/tennessee-volunteers-turn-focus-purdue-boilermakers-coach-jeff-brohm

Why would any coach go to Tennessee after the way they bailed out on Greg Schiano and basically threw him under the bus. Talk about an administration that doesn't have your back.
Why....

1. Huge payday.
2. Can get more guarantees because UT's AD is in recruiting hell right now and needs to land the right guy
3. Great FB town
4. Great school
5. Huge assistant budget
6. Lot's more control because of the above

Overzealous and unrealistic fan base that is entirely out of touch with reality is more than enough of a reason to render all of those other reasons pretty much moot or meaningless...the job would appeal to anyone who is strictly in it for the fame and fortune, which is how they ended up with Kiffin and Jones...and precisely why it likely does not appeal to Brohm.

David Cutcliffe, among others, has turned down Tennessee. I'm guessing Tennessee isn't the job you think it is right now. Nobody want's to work for someone who is so quick to throw you under the bus. I'm sure someone will eventually take the job, but I hope Brohm isn't that guy.

Ever think that there's a great chance the AD may be gone after the hiring?

He'll go 7-5 next year thanks to a soft non-conference, and they'll be ready to run him out on a rail. The cupboard is bare AF there

I wouldn't be too overwhelmed by the Tenn recruiting rankings, as they've been like that every year Jones was there. He was a star chaser with no regard for whether they fit or not. His highly rated classes of the last four years have been whooped by Vanderbilt's lowly rated classes two years running. That should tell you what you need to know.

My son is a huge Vol fan and I told him Jones would be gone in four years. Jones is Jones and his track record is the same.

when they hired Jones I looked at his CV and said "wait a minute. He's only ever won by inheriting programs from Kelly." He inherited a messy roster at ut and is leaving one behind. Brohm would be a significant upgrade for them, but he won't win quickly. And that's gonna be a problem for the fans.

Tennessee is a mess and AD is most likely gone. Brohm deserves to be the guy...instead of the 5th to 6th guy in line. If he was smart develop a winning legacy at Purdue and then get the Louisville job.
