Yes, that is the same Cincinnati team that humiliated Purdue this year. Coach Matt Rhule currently has Temple tied for first place in the AAC. Temple beat USF last week so they'll go to the CCG if the division ends up in a tie.

Tulsa 3-1 6-2
Houston 4-2 7-2
Memphis 2-2 5-3
SMU 2-2 4-4

I don't know if Rhule is the answer for Purdue, but he does fit an archetype that I hope MB2 takes seriously: guys who might not have eye-popping records but who have had success in rebuilding programs from close to square one at schools where it is difficult to win consistently. I'd put Dave Clawson at WF and maybe Doc Holliday at Marshall in that category, too. There are probably others.

At any rate, Rhule is already more accomplished as a head coach at the FBS level than three of Purdue's last four hires.

not saying Thule is a bad coach, but al golden is the guy who built Temple up from 0-11 to 9-4 in four years.

Let's look at the whole picture here. Temple was a doormat in the Big East for 14 years. The Big East then expelled Temple for low attendance.

Al Golden became HC when they were independent and built them into a winner in a much weaker MAC conference. Golden left and Temple bottomed out again. Golden was replaced with Steve Addazio who was canned after two years.

Then Temple joins a much stronger AAC and hires Matt Rhule. Rhule took Temple from last place to first place in three years and they're tied for the conference lead again this year.

Ruhle benefited from PSU sanctions. TU had three recruiting classes boosted. Won't have that luxury at his next stop.

4-7 is hardly bottoming out. 0-11 is bottoming out.

And Addazio wasn't fired- he got the BC job.

The reason I don't like Rhule at Purdue is because his recruiting territory is still too regional. Having said that, I don't think Temple took recruits from PSU. At least I've not heard anybody complain about that (and we PSU fans complain about recruiting tactics by another team or two, so we'd be hyper aware if Rhule went there).

Purdue did better yesterday than that score showed, at least first half. Your qb is talented and it seems you've had more than your fair share of injuries. PSU has been there/done that, so here's hoping your guys get a break soon.

The suggestion that Temple took recruits from Penn State is completely retarded. A 4-star has offers from Penn State, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Michigan. Penn State has sanctions due to Sandusky. The kid says "Oh, what Sandusky did was horrible. I'm going to Temple instead."
