My Weekly CBB Top 25

No SOS is also used to seed the good teams - used as a tool to decipher the subtle differences between teams with similar resumes. Why does the committee use wins over Quad 1, 2, etc? Same reason
It depends. Most of the teams already have a bunch of Q1A, Q1B and Q2 games because they likely are playing in the B1G, Big 12, SEC or ACC(especially now with super conferences). But it's not always been that way and the committee went more off the eye test. SOS is just a tool and normally just a crap argument.

This is from the 2023 NCAA selection website:

“Among the resources available to the committee are an extensive season-long evaluation of teams through watching games, conference monitoring calls and NABC regional advisory rankings; complete box scores and results, head-to-head results, results versus common opponents, imbalanced conference schedules and results, overall and non-conference strength of schedule, the quality of wins and losses, road record, player and coach availability and various computer metrics.”

So yes SOS is used and it’s your opinion that it’s a crap argument. Seems to me it would be very useful for say 2 similar teams from different conferences vying for say a top 4 seed with the S curve. One of many factors yes but it’s clearly important.

Don't feed the trolls ;)

"I'm not someone who cares so much about SOS."

so, in your mind, if Purdue only played teams like North Dakota SW, or Saint George U, or any other community college, and Purdue beats each team by 80+, they are the best in the nation.

"I don't care about kenpom. I give the ratings zero thought when I'm ranking teams."

sorry. i give zero thought to your rankings.

your "thought" process and reasoning and "cares" show you have 2 brain cells.
...and they are fighting each other for 3rd place.

Cool story bro. Yea if Purdue was out here bearing those teams by 80+, yea I'd have them #1 by now probably. That'd be stupidly impressive to be 10-0 and a winning margin of 80.

I'm not the committee now am I?

Minnesota does have a guy that's in his 8th year... Lol. I'm assuming this will go down a hair next year with the COVID years finally ending.
Yup. Purdue will have one of the older teams and IU will have a brand new team with all transfers, no clue if they’ll all be older or younger.

Well that's how it'll have to be. As of now Rice, Carlyle, Mgbako, Tucker, Reneau, Newton and Cupps all returning. Sisley coming in. So looking at probably 3-4 transfers. And that's dependant on which of those 7 decide to leave.

Lmao. Cupps and Newton are gone regardless—they aren’t getting PT.

If IU has the season that most fans want, Rice, Carlyle, Reneau, Mgbako and Tucker are all gone with the departure of Woodson. So IU would be looking at a whole new roster….unless super seniors, Leal and Galloway, are back again?

Well I was wrong about Purdue beating Marquette and Penn State.
Help me understand, Wrong Shot:

What compelled you to come here and spout your super-scary hoops intellect? Are any other fan sites unfortunate enough to be subjected to your brilliance?

I’m guessing you’re simply the latest in the parade of indinia fanbois who are desperate for validation from BIg Brother.

Are you bothered by opinions that don't like exactly with yours?

Leal and Galloway can't come back. This is their COVID year. But Rice, Carlyle, Reneau, Mgbako and Tucker don't have any sort of NBA stock at the moment unless they are transferring. And them transferring would probably be determined on who the next coach is. As for Newton, he could leave and go back down south. It's just been a super rough go for him because of all the injuries. This year is the first year he's really been able to play in a game since his Junior year of HS I think. I don't see Cupps leaving. Unless he wants to drop down a level to play.

You don’t have the courage to answer any of my questions— explain why should I bother with yours?
Oh here. I'll answeryour 2 questions

1. I want to because unlike many others, I like talking to other fan bases and not just getting stuck in a bubble.

2. Yea, I'm around a lot of other fan bases and have been for over a decade, starting at ESPN when they still had real comment sections.

That's hard to believe because I pegged you as a middle schooler based on intellect and maturity of your posts
