My son plays lacrosse and an issue came up recently. On another club team that a buddy of his plays on, there are issues with kids that also play on the national team for that club. You are talking about 4 or 5 kids out of 20. The team is starting to have bad chemistry due to the national kids forming a click that puts down the non-national kids, especially others that do not start on the local team.
Got me thinking, is there an issue on college teams with the scholarship versus non. I know that it will vary widely but, curious if the best case there is an undertone or maybe worst case it is blatant poor treatment. Do non-schollies pay for training table or other team perks that are not covered by tuition or room & board?
