TE Rafdal decommits from iu

You haven't had a winning record since 2007. We are a terrible team and have still had one as recently as 2011.

Oh and a fun fact, if IU wins its next 191 straight games, it'll finally break .500 in football.

So yes, IU sucks and will always suck.

They aren't great. But they don't suck. They are close to breaking through. A lot closer than Purdue is.

Breaking through to what? A winning record? I have been hearing from IU fans that IU is "a program on the rise" for literally 20 years. How many teams with a winning record did IU beat this year? Your signature win was over a 3-win MSU squad.

Breaking through to their first bowl win since 1991?

History means very little in sports. If it did, IUs basketball program would be dominating. You are always "1 hire" away. Purdue fans are just such haters, that you'll never give the benefit of the doubt.

There are decades full of reasons that IU football doesn't get the benefit of the doubt from any fan base, not just us.

It has got to a point where OSU and Michigan can barely beat them. I'd say that's progress.

Great news! IU barely beat us this year. We must be on the cusp of greatness as well.

IU hasn't beaten either team you mentioned since 1988. And since history "means very little", the fact that you were competitive to an extent this year means very little going forward. What does matter is that you were 0-2 (again), and still lost to UM despite them playing without their quarterback. You also realize that both teams doubled you up this year, right? You actually came closer last year...which would mean you are regressing.

You do realise this is a freaking Purdue board, and I don't care what their record says, which historically is bad, IU will always suck. You want pro IU, go to a freaking IU board.
I think IU fans come to this board sometimes because you guys always have an axe to grind against IU. Why do you have so many topics about IU??? How many posts do you see about Purdue on the IU board?? Your misery in Purdue football right now is like watching a train wreck, you dont want to look but you have to.

You guys are about to step back up. You hired a good coach. I would love to post here and talk football but you guys act like middle school girls so much, its not worth trying to have a friendly response. I would get attacked on anything that is said because I like IU.

When talking about recruits, there is always speculation by scouts about their potential to play other positions. I.e. Many scouts speculate Alstott as a running QB could end up at a different position. One of our other recruits was a QB and is being looked at as a potential kick returner. In combing the internet, I found a local paper that said Stickford was once a WR and was converted to be an offensive lineman and suggested he could possibly be converted to TE . Similarly, I read a scouting report on Pittman that suggested because of his size, he could possibly be converted to play TE. It's a given that coaches look at players with their needs in mind regardless of the positions they have played. Brohm viewed White as a potential safety rather than linebacker or running back. When looking at guys like Pittman, , you look at ways to get him in your lineup. With the other WR we have, you think of possible double TE sets, or other ways to utilize him. Pittman is a huge WR. While recruited as a WR, it's also not unreasonable to project his potential as a tight end. The same applies to Stickford. One is led to believe if he was once a WR, he could learn how to become a TE. Nothing in college football is an absolute. Look at QB Henry.

Goodness gracious, yes . . . that's what successful coaches do!

Tiller took a pedestrian TE and made him a Super Bowl TE!
Recruited multiple QBs and made them into NFL DBs, LBs and B1G RBs.

So, don't read them. Pretty easy.
I'm not wild about a lot of our IU threads but so what? I certainly have never gone to another team board and complained about what threads that their fans chose to post. It's their board and they should talk about what they choose.

Lol. Im done trolling you guys. This will all play out on the field.

OSU: 2 - 54 - 1
Mich: 5 - 41 - 0

That is some epic futility right there.

Playing judge advocate, and for comparison purposes, what's Purdue's record against OSU and Michigan? I remember the victories. But I also remember some very long dry spells.

I know how bad IU has been the last 50 years. I'm more interested in the next 5 years. Which should be somewhat enjoyable.

The Carmel story is about its sophomore class IMHKO. There are concievably 5/6 D1 guys there.

So yes, IU sucks and will always suck.

Imagine Derp Derp Hazell's record had that guy been put in the East Division?

He was able to get a couple miraculous wins barely against Illinois.

With "The Morgue" running the show, he did his very best to try and bury the two major men's sports there. I feel for you, though. IU had Myles Brand looking down his academic nose at the sports programs so can completely relate.

They aren't great. But they don't suck. They are close to breaking through. A lot closer than Purdue is.
LOL. Close? LOL. You are NOT winning in the east division.

You suck.
You always have sucked.
And you'll always suck.

Take. It. To. The. Bank. Snowflake.

All IU fans were bummed when Hazell was fired because they knew they'd no longer have free reign over in-state kids. Those days are over.
