Swanigan to announce college next week...

That's a good point. Just because we don't know, doesn't mean he doesn't know. I would expect AJ and Haas to have reached out to him, assuming that it's legal (I really don't know all the recruiting rules, so that's just a catchall, but I assume it's fine).

It sure is an advantage for Cuonzo to have Berkley being located in the San Francisco area; it's a lovely area.

Maybe this is selfish, but I hope Cuonzo doesn't land that combo. It would confirm my worst fear: Cuonzo is a far better recruiter, for whatever reason, than Painter.

Do you actually think Painter was "the guy" when bringing in Moore, Hummel and Johnson?

Cmon. Zo was THE recruiter.

Painter has had some flashes of success since Zo left...but the results while Zo was here speak for themselves. The guy is charismatic, intelligent and can coach his ass off.

He had 2 points in a forgetful 15 minutes in the burger classic last night. Would I love to see him in black and gold, of course, but i'm still pretty reserved on the ranking...#8 in the country I believe... after seeing him in the semi-state and finals on tv. So if he does choose to come here, lets keep the expectations in check!!

You could be right, but I hope the McDonalds AA game doesn't shape your opinion at all.

This. I think Cuonzo has huge potential as a HC. But would he be willing to leave Cal for Purdue? Even if he would, I can't see him wanting to replace Painter.

Really guys? Move on. There are plenty of recruits for next year and beyond that we can discuss that actually might come to Purdue. This ship has sailed, docked in a far away land, and is already unloading cargo.

More likely he ends up with Rabb in Cal than with MSU, imo.
Lots of buzz about Cal right now.

Wasn't it a year or two ago when Swanigan announced he was returning to California for high school? We all know what kind of person, coach, and recruiter Zo is, so I'm not sure anyone should be surprised if it is Cal.
