Within the next week? That will be quite a task.Originally posted by Dr_billy_badass:
If Painter wants to keep AJ and have a shot at Swanigan, he's going to need to get a 5th year or JUCO point guard in who can play immediately that he knows can pass the ball down low.
While history tells me he goes anywhere but Purdue......I was curious how the above happened?Originally posted by atkinsbj:
Lol.
He is currently a roommate of another 5 star prospect that happens be committed to MSU.
Roomate at the McD's game? Don't know that I've ever heard where that's a deciding factor.Originally posted by atkinsbj:

Lol man you could not have exaggerated\mislead us more with that. Its a game hardly his roomate lmaoOriginally posted by atkinsbj:
You're right. It's just coincidence. I change my mind he's a Purdue lock.

I get a couple of you have this agenda on here for whatever reason, but this statement of yours is just false. I can tell you from living in the area that the interest from Swanigan in regards to Purdue is very much legit and he isn't just "being kind".Originally posted by TJBoiler:
Do you really think Painter is going to land Swanigan based on that competition? Seriously? Based on what track record of Painter's? I personally think Swanigan was being kind to Purdue by listing them as a potential recruit. 3 of the teams after him are in the Final 4. Get a clue.
Agree with you on the most hated rival. No way IU surpasses MSU as our strongest rival. I think it is because Painter and Izzo gravitate toward the same recruits. They coach similar tough defense, measured offense games. That says good things about Painter, but Izzo has the pull of already having gone to the FF. It is the story of the rich get richer.Originally posted by jadeezra:
Unfortunately my gut says Msu, and they have become my most hayed rival
Hope you are right, but it's hard to imagine Purdue getting picked when the other 3 teams on his list are in the FF this weekend (when he is making his announcement) and have all been to the final 4 multiple times in the last decade. It's a stretch to think we can do this, but if we could add Swanigan and a solid PG like Octeus again, we could be a contender next year. Would love to see that.Originally posted by mathboy:

As far as a fit for Swanagan, I still see it as a toss up between MSU and Purdue, because both have situations where he would be a great. MSU is bringing in another 5* forward, so Swanagan might be playing a version of center there. The counter argument is that MSU rarely uses a true center the way Purdue does. They really run a 2 post game, with both posts doing the work of the traditional center.
Purdue can offer playing time next to very good senior and sophmore true centers. MSU can only offer playing next to a freshman post, who may or may not be as good as his ranking. This would lead me to think Pusdue might be a bit better than MSU as a fit for S.
The "but" in this arguement is that such subtle differences in fit may get pushed aside with the FF run MSU is making right now.

Now it's being reported that there is a package deal of Swanigan, Rabb, and J. Brown all going to our good friend Mr. Martin out at Cal. WOW way to go Counzo!!!
I agree that random teams land 5 star kids year after year. Our last guy that was close at all was Moore so we are overdue.Originally posted by Cleanface:
LSU landed the #1 5* player in the whole damn country for next year!
LSU.
And his teammate who had offers from EVERYONE (#14 5* in the country).
LSU.
To say that the mighty Purdue Boilermakers WON'T or CAN'T get a player like Swanigan is just foolish blather. Of course we can, and I hope we will.
My Boiler brethren, let's all lift prayers of thanks, praise, and hope until that day of decision. YES WE CAN!
