Swanigan has had his moments (Uthoff having to cover him in the post), but this has been advantage: Uthoff ALL DAY.

Maybe RD is hurt, and I know Uthoff has made some tough shots, but he has proven just a hand up is not good enough. He is one of the nation's best shooters. Wish Painter would have switched it up earlier and stuck someone else on Uthoff/continued to go small.

Davis was matched up against Jok with the hopes he could shut him down while allowing Uthoff to get his. The problem with this is that Jok still had 13 and Wooodbury had 13 as well.

As much as many on here do like Davis, he is a total liability on offense. I'm just not seeing anything from Davis offensively and he is playing above-average defense. At times he plays good defense but it isn't to the point of being a lock down defender like he was last year. 6 points and 4 TO's.

What appears to be is that Purdue can not turn the ball over more than 10 times a game and hope to win against good competition. When the team does that, they tend to play well and win ball games.

I would sure like to see J Taylor getting some minutes guarding some of the tough match ups that Swanigan cannot handle. He is quicker and just might make it harder on some of those guys to score. It is clear that Swanigan is just not quick enough to handle some of those match ups at the 4. Painter just seems determined not to give him any pt in a competitive game.

Not saying Caleb is an elite defender but nobody can stop Uthoff.

This. Uthoff is a matchup nightmare for pretty much any opposing player out there. The only one that has slowed Uthoff down this season is Uthoff, when he gets early fouls and sits on the bench. He affects the game in so many different ways when he is out there on the floor.

Us Iowa fans saw his potential last year, but he deferred too often to others like White or Oleisani. The fans & coaches begged him to be more aggressive, but not until this year has he truly embraced being aggressive and being the go to guy. I don't think any Iowa fan though envisioned how high his ceiling has proven to be this season. He is playing with a lot of swagger & confidence.

Uthoff is the best player I've seen this year. I'm not just saying this because Iowa spanked us twice this year. I've seen him play several games and he is damn near unguardable. If I'm an NBA GM I am taking Uthoff as a lottery pick. 6'10, can shoot, and his athletic (yesterday's drive to the hoop with the left handed slam). Good luck to Iowa the rest of the way. They're a fun team to watch and with a stud like Uthoff, they have all the pieces for a deep tourney run.

He's good but you must not have watched Oklahoma if you can say that.

Nobody is saying Uthoff would have been stopped, but there were at least three of his 3 point makes that came with Swanigan not playing him tight enough. As an Iowa fan, I'm sure you know that he doesn't need much space at all. I know it's easy to say this all from my couch, but Purdue should have known to force him to put it on the floor.

Not saying they would have stopped him, but it's clearly not a great idea to give one of the best shooters (and players) in the country get a clean look at a 3. At the same time, I realize that, by closing out hard, Uthoff would have a driving lane...well, I'll live with that, as opposed to him dropping bombs and lighting Purdue up from deep all day.

Point is: Swanigan had no business defending Uthoff.
