Stream of First Europe Game

Will the website have the reply after the game is over, or do you only have the chance to watch it live?
Website says: "Video footage from the event will be archived and stored in a video library for FloHoops subscribers to watch for the duration of their subscription." So, I guess we will be able to watch later.

Def not used to watching this team without Edey, and some of the lineups were kinda odd, but we know that's what Painter does during these kinds of games

Great run down the stretch to pull out a big win, can't wait to see stat sheets but Waddell is looking really good

@tjreese , I think you nailed it, if Waddell keeps playing like this I don't know how he doesn't play significant minutes this year. This will get interesting.

Matt really mixed up things and the guys were dealing with a lot of newness. That said, Matt will play Lance and Braden together and when that happens Braden will always be the PG. Lance will assume that when Braden goes to the bench. Yes, Brian was very good. Too many people don't realize what a player can do over a summer if desired. Brian could very well be in tight games...although I'm unsure how he does at the line. Myles and Cam will have their day(s). Liked Trey's drive from left wing. Caleb is falling short of his physical abilities...too much potential. Just one game in, but the up and down game is when Braden is best. Cam did show me some speed and decent quickness out there. Tomorrow there may be different stars... :)

You the real mvp!
Waddell can get his shot off real quick. I’m guessing the real question, will he be able to guard, which will determine his minutes. Did you see or hear anything about that today?

Waddell is showing why he should get minutes. As long as he keeps his head about him on defense and is consistent on the offensive side, he will. Someone at the 3 spot is going to be getting scraps and it isn’t him.

Watched the stream of the first half and thought Waddell and Smith were standout players. Gillis and morton do some nice things, but BW has other dimensions to his game and should be starting over those guys. Long silky smooth player who is an underrated athlete , high bball iq and has a great jump shot. Favorite lineup was after the first subs Smith Loyer Waddell TKR Furst. Probably take TKR over Furst when Edey is back. Boiler Up boys!

This guy gets it!! Morton and Gillis should see less playing time.
Morton would have to improve a ton on offense, and I feel bad for Gillis
because he has the body of a 3 but the basketball skills of a 4.

I never really watched the D (anyone's) since it was so bad early, but he has shown a quicker step this year and today should go along way for his confidence. I think he will provide a bit of quickness on teh perimeter and even though he is a lot stronger than last year he may not be as strong as some. I know all the players D will get better as the season goes on. Matt does a lot of team D. I understand he works the shell every practice and so he puts a bit more focus on Team D than the individual. Also with two coaches focusing on D, it should be solid. There is no reason the D can't be pretty good this year. I'm mostly interested at this time in what do they bring on O. Maybe we will know more tomorrow? ;)

Uh other than the fact that Morton didn't even suit up for this game. Not much you could really glean from this IMO. This guy "Waddle" as the announcer would call him looked really comfortable and smooth out there. By the way, give me these announcers over any student announce 101 times out of 100. Looks like the boys are getting some sun as the farmers tans were in full effect.

I think he meant Morton shouldn’t be playing as many minutes because Waddell looked like he brings more to the table and therefore should play more mins regardless if morton plays this entire trip.

I went back and watched it although I got a little sleepy the first half and Brian was never really placed into anything other than help defense. One time he got screened inside and "could have been" a little late getting to his man, but he got through in time. The German team??? really didn't have the kind of action you would expect in the USA. A lot of individual play by the German team with a few passes dumped, but nothing to really put you in a bind for the wings. Do think a few USA teams could use their 5 man

At the risk of reading too much into watching one half of basketball, Waddell looks like a player.
Looked like Hummel senior year in HS, pretty sure he had 20 points in
Carmel's 4A State Championship win over Lawrence North, and made
Stefanovich look bad in practice before his ACL tear. Yes, Waddell is a
player. Kid can be a point forward, should have played more last year.

Painter needs to trust his players more and not shorten his rotation as
the season moves along. It would build more confidence, provide fresher
legs, and do better in March, too. Here's to hoping he can improve in this
area.

Well I think that’s a general consensus but I’m highly doubtful of that happening.

THAT is why I've been saying he's going to get minutes since the scrimmage. Always squared up and attentive to his man. In contrast Cam Heide (who i like very much) is frequently getting lost as he turns his head to watch other action. Mostly a learned thing of course, but right now it puts Brian ahead in terms of not hurting the team. Not saying he's a starter or 8 man rotation guy, but those saying he won't get off the bench should open their eyes. He also hit at least 1 three and maybe 2 that got waved off for a foul elsewhere on the court.
His shot looks really nice.

For sure. Hope he continues to do well and is efficient with his minutes during the trip. I have to admit, I completely forgot he tore his ACL in 2021, so being two years removed from that has helped him get back to where he was before, if not better.
