Sister Kira an all state junior from SB Washington just decommitted from Purdue. Two sisters remain on the women’s team. Not sure what this does to brother Steven who is at the top. Of the recruiting board for Purdue.

The dad retired from Washington and thought I read we lost the other sister who was on the roster.

I thought she was a senior this year and a Frosh next year at Purdue?

Either way, saw her de-commit and thought “our chances with SR3 just went significantly down”.

Wouldn’t surprise me if their dad took a college coaching job somewhere and the daughters are going wherever he ends up…

Not saying it happens but if SR3 eliminates Purdue “Men’s basketball” from his list because of his sisters then he doesn’t belong at Purdue for other reasons. Painter has made him a priority and would make him a star so the balls in his court.

Let's be clear Kira is a program changer. IMO she would have made Purdue competitive. I expect Rashunda Jones will go with her former teammates wherever SR2 lands. Ugly state of pay for play we have landed in. This has nothing to do with Katie this has everything to do with parents cashing in on their kids.

What you said is true no debate. I will say Katie is a bad coach with her substitution patterns, offensive sets, and inability to recruit.

Unfortunate turn of events for Purdue's women's program - no doubt the young lady can play and make an impact. First quintuple double in Indiana history? Hello.

Maybe it is just the Boilerepherine in me, but to me, this situation with the Reynolds young ladies cannot bode well for securing a commitment from the younger brother. Couple that with Izzo and MSU having a surprisingly good year, this feels like another miss to up north. I hope I am wrong. I am sure CMP and staff are already working on any preventative damage control with him/family.

Lol,,,,,this has a lot to do with how awful WBB is....it isn't like we are coming off double digit wins and NCAA tournament runs....we didn't even qualify for the B1G tournament because we are that awful.

Sorry, they made a correct business decision to play for a winning program

I agree with their decision as our WBB is horrible right now. I just hope his decision isn't based on that. He can clearly see CMP is a great coach and could get him where he needs to be.

News from track and field land. The AG determines how the NIL money is divided amongst the many different programs.

It sounds to me like the Purdue AD is not spending very much on women’s athletics.

First you saw all those awesome women volleyball players all decide to leave. Now you are seeing a huge defection of women basketball players. I have to ask, was it the coach? Or the total lack of NIL spending on women’s sports?

Back at SIU, they have slashed the SIU track budget. An up and coming track coach has slashed SIU off his list of coaching stops. He’s not going to coach somewhere that has nothing to give his athletes. What was once a nationally ranked and respected track team with several NCAA and Olympic stars will soon become an afterthought .

I bring this up. Because it’s the AD’s job to be able to distribute the NIL money equitably. That’s obviously not happening at Purdue . Without an equitable distribution of NIL resources, you are going to turn away both players and decent coaches.

Ask yourself. Look at our women’s volleyball team. It was awesome this year. So why did it’s star players all leave?

maybe its unrelated but katie is the hc and hasnt gotten it done so far. Thats usually not good for retention. Again, maybe they would have walked if they played on a good team but its not like purdue is making them think twice. Lastly, i like katie and shes a boiler. purdue didnt do her any favors by bringing her in with no real experience. In fact, it may set her career back. The previous football hire was a disaster as well. Why do we keep hiring people with no relevant work experience to judge them fairly.

Because they don’t cost as much money

It was in a 86-10 game though, South Bend lost in the Regional. We’ll see how good she is, we heard the same thing about the other two and they showed zilch here.

We’ll see about Rashunda leaving, my guess is she’ll stay. The other two Reynolds girls didn’t show anything here, I highly doubt top programs are pining for them, Amiyah in games I watched looked like a JV point guard, she wasn’t good.

You obviously have no idea how NIL works. One more time: NIL is not paid to the players by the school. The AD does not decide how NIL is distributed.

The 20.5 million that schools will be allowed to pay directly to players will be determined by the school. That has not started yet.

No idea about SIU track and field, and don't care.
