Can someone tell me what happened to him? Saw him play for you earlier this season and then he disappeared.
Is he still on the team?
Thanks

Had a friend die. Took a couple weeks off and fell out of the rotation. Painter said he'd give him another chance but lied. Hope he transfers he has the ablilty to help a team but a bunch of moron fans are just constantly attacking him. Wish he could stay but he's lost a lot of the fan base so it wouldn't be a great situation for him

If he is gone, I am pissed, because Painter should have done more to get him back in the rotation and playing well. We could have used him today. What is the point in being understanding and giving him time off if you aren't going to get him back in the rotation and contributing. Maybe Painter made an effort to do so, but it didn't appear as such.

I'll get chastised for this or even banned but there's more to it than losing a friend. He was losing playing time before his friends death as Painter was sorting out his rotation. Kendall was the odd man out. I caught hell from Heller and others on here but you could see it coming. Feel sorry that he lost a friend but he lost his minutes before that happened. Hope he stays but I don't see him gaining more minutes in the future.

I missed the last 5 minutes.
Went to take the dog for a walk. Thought it was over.
I don't remember him playing against us in the BTCG. Maybe I missed it?
Nope. He has hardly played since middle of B1G season. Painter was looking to put the blame on someone and he chose to start benching him. Obviously it wasn't Kendall. He didn't lose games down the stretch. He actually played a huge role for us at the start of the season when we were scorching hot.

He was losing minutes but the fact is Painter said after kendall took his break he would get another chance. Matt didn't deliver for him which is ridiculous for a coach to give a kid hope like that.

You should play a kid because his friend died? Man, I should have made the team if that's a rule. I'll never forgive Keady for overlooking me back in the late 90's!

You must have had your TV turned off watching the games where Stephen's was just jacking up 3's even when not open at all or very easy in the shot clock. He was bricking them left and right. I feel bad for the kids I really do. His shot has just stopped falling for whatever reason.

You don't take a break from your team in the middle of the season. This is where the chastizing of me begins.

Not saying he is the only one that did it. He did it far more often and his stopped falling. End of story

Stephens has the perfect game for the co-rec. At best he will spell Mathias and Cline next year.

I like Cline and Mathias but they get completely exposed on D. Get taken off the dribble and guys just raise up over them all the time. If they are going to be successful on that end of the floor they need to become extremely scrappy.

My opinion, painter has ruined more good players than he has made because he tries to fit a square peg in a round hole. You can't be so inflexible as a coach and be successful.

Ya, we needed more of Hills drives to the basket with the game on the line.

He can't help us neither… painter knows it or else he'd be out there. He plays good in 3 games, games against crappy teams. When its time to answer the bell …forget about it. Not good defender or shooter when its on the line… That is just the truth. Nice kid though

When its on the line... He was the reason we went to the tourney last season. If he didn't hit that 3 against Penn State we wouldn't of went. Don't think he's had another chance since..

I would love to see Stephens get back in the rotation next year. He can play defense, I have seen it quite a few times. I recall a block he made that was very clutch, seen him cause the other team to turn the ball over on many occasions. As someone else mentioned, he made the 3 pointer against Penn State last year that turned our whole season around. Just seems that it would be a major shame to not capitalize on his talent and ability. I know his long range shot sort of disappeared this year, but the talent is still there. I like Cline and Mathias, but to keep Stephens on the bench indefinitely when his length could really help and when you need another shooter is just inexcusable. I for one hope he stays and comes back strong next year!
