This is not correct. Using the word "illegal" implies a crime was committed. Were there errors in obtaining the FISA warrants? Yes, but that's all that's been stated. This idea there was this concerted effort throughout the FBI to investigate was some massive conspiracy and deep state operation...is not reality.
I’m guessing to try to make it look legitimate so when using it to try to impeach the President, it’s validity wouldn’t be questioned, which backfired. But that’s just my speculation and that could be wrong. And I think it involved foreign players, as well as us citizens, which is why they went through that specific court.
If you obtain a warrant using falsified information and it was knowingly false, which has been proven, that is a crime. These were intentional omissions, not just errors

Which ultimately was used as the basis of the Russia collusion hoax. The FBI had exculpatory information that disproved the allegations of collusion with Russia but that was ignored. So Carter Paige was used as a vehicle to push that narrative. So by claiming he was such an insignificant player, which may be true, just supports the position that the whole thing was absurd.

It's easy to say it was exculpatory on Monday morning but considering the vast amount of circumstantial evidence provided by trump, his associates, and members of the campaign..........and the extreme consequences to national security involved if there was "collusion" with the Russians........a complete and thorough investigation was warranted.
Remember, this was a campaign that was KNOWINGLY accepting help from Russia and didn't tell ANYONE in the Intel community.
As for Page, my point was trump is making all sorts of accusations of spying and conspiracy based on a man his campaign wanted nothing to do with and had no access. Considering he was hired as a foreign policy expert........and clearly was not.......and he had all sorts of contacts with the Russians.......it would certainly appear to the intelligence services that his hiring was a ruse to get access to a possible Russian asset.

And let’s say there was justifiable grounds for a warrant, the issue is, that the investigation into page revealed nothing to support the collusion narrative and actually did the opposite, which is the problem. The worst thing you can do as an investigator is to go into an investigation with a preconceived outcome or agenda and gather evidence to support your hopeful outcome. If the fbi was truly acting objectively, the Russian nonsense would have stopped after investigating Page, but as we all know it didn’t.

The Horowitz clearly states the FBI made mistakes when it came to the the documentation on the FISA warrants against Page. That doesn't mean there wasn't sufficient cause for the investigation......or, as he said, any bias behind it.

Opening an investigation into something, regardless the subject matter, has a pretty low standard, which I believe Horowitz pointed out during his testimony. So just opening an investigation means very little. It’s the findings of that investigation and the manner in which it was conducted that matter

Apparently not. Since Mueller did not find evidence of "collusion" Trump and his supporters now say it was all a hoax. The Russian hoax. It never should have been undertaken, there was never anything there. He is arguing against the opening of the investigation.......based on the result.
A not guilty verdict in a trial doesn't mean there never should have been one.......that there wasn't enough evidence for an investigation or arrest. It just means the jury had a reasonable doubt based on the evidence presented to them.
Trump is not simply saying he wasn't guilty. He's saying there was never ANY credible evidence, never any reason for the investigation.... let alone Mueller.....and the people in the Intel community didn't make mistakes...........They intentionally and maliciously and illegally conspired to manufacture evidence and lied about it. BTW, they risked their careers and freedom to do this but NO MATTER, they did all this to get Trump removed from office. So in that same grand jury trial you use as an example, what happens if it is discovered through the course of the trial, that the police who conducted the investigation, planted a piece of evidence or misrepresented evidence for a warrant that then led to the arrest, which then led to the trial you reference?

You can argue the HRC's server had no impact on National Security.
But you can't argue that she committed a felony by destroying FBI subpoenaed evidence.
You can argue that HRC's decisions were not influenced by donations foreign governments made to the Clinton foundation.
You can't argue the fact Russia and Ukraine made substantial contributions to the foundation.
You can argue the the Comey investigation was not political.
You can't argue that every investigating attorney was a Clinton Donor or had Democratic political ties.
You can argue that as VP of the USA Biden was not influenced by foreign countries and the relationship his sun Hunter was granted with China and Ukraine.
You can't argue the millions Hunter received from these Countries while his dad was VP.

Mueller could not prove “collusion” between the Trump campaign and Russia. I don’t think he had evidence of it. There was enough evidence to investigate. The Russians clearly preferred trump and took actions to help him become president. The trump campaign knew about it and did not inform anyone in the US government. Doesn’t mean they were working together.
Your statement is accurate with regard to the obstruction of the investigation by trump and his loyalists.
Mueller had plenty of evidence on obstruction but felt he couldn’t proceed based on the OLC memo from……2002? He also felt it wasn’t fair to implicate trump when he could not defend himself in a trial.
A few did make serious mistakes in the investigation and with the dossier. But again, it doesn’t mean there weren’t many legitimate reasons for the investigation and that it was necessary. All you have to is read the bipartisan senate intel committee’s report.
'Serious mistakes' makes it sound like you think the corruption about the dossier was accidental. The FBI offered Steele 1 mil to corroborate the fake dossier. When he couldn't, they used it anyway. That is serious corruption.
