With this 2020 class getting close to be completed, it is not too early to talk 2021 recruits.

For the state of IN for 2021, the list below is the early list of top 11 recruits for 2021. There is obviously 1 person on this list that everyone will recognize. We know that he is going to be tough to get with him being a national recruit, but hoping his brother can talk him into joining him with the Boilers. Of the others on this list, who will be going after and who do we have a legitimate shot of getting?

Blake Fisher is already a Notre Dame verbal, so he is off our list. There are 3 QBs on this list. Is Powlus on this list the son of the former QB at Notre Dame?

1. Blake Fisher Avon (Avon, IN) OT

2. Yanni Karlaftis West Lafayette (West Lafayette, IN)
OLB

3. Luke Collinsworth East Central (Brookville, IN)
OT

4. Rodney McGraw Elkhart Central (Elkhart, IN)
WDE

5. Cooper Jones Valparaiso (Valparaiso, IN)
SDE

6. Ron Powlus III Penn (Mishawaka, IN)
PRO

7. Kyran Montgomery Pike (Indianapolis, IN)
WDE

8. Preston Terrell Brownsburg (Brownsburg, IN)
WR

9. Donaven McCulley Lawrence North (Indianapolis, IN)
DUAL

10. Daylan Carnell Ben Davis (Indianapolis, IN)
ATH

11. Ben Easters Brownsburg (Brownsburg, IN)
PRO

Besides YK, the name I've heard most in connection to Purdue has been Collinsworth. But I'm not inside by any degree.

Seen Powlus a couple times and he was very inaccurate with his passes. Seems to get very rattled with any pressure. Will see him play in two weeks. Cooper Jones looks very good as a sophomore. Again will see him in two weeks when they play Penn.

We’re already a crystal ball pick for Preston Terrell.

I suppose if we had but one CB pick @ this point, I'd like to see it for an OL....
The one CB we have early is @ WR...….not exactly looking like a "position of need " at this point...…..

They will still take at least one WR in 2021 and take two or three OL.

How good is this class supposed to be relative to recent classes?

With how many Indiana recruits Purdue has signed this past year, it’s tough for me to get into this exercise much.

Yanni and Collinsworth would be great in-state gets for Purdue. Hopefully the coaches haven't cut ties with Fisher either as a lot can change over a year, not to mention he could see the field quite a bit his first year as we need some help on the O-line!

I'm an Elkhart Central grad so it's interesting to see a fellow Blue Blazer on the list.
When I was in school, my junior year, 2 of my Sr teammates went to Purdue and then my Sr year, our RB/ATH went to iu.

I think the 2021 in state class will be better than 2019

We need to land Yanni. Aside from O-line, LB is the one position we haven't landed a stud at yet during Brohm's tenure. Yanni would change that quickly.

I know I started this discussion about 2021, but it looks like we are trying to get in early on the state's top player for 2022.

Purdue offers state's No. 1 recruit

Indianapolis (Ind.) Brebeuf defensive end Joe Strickland tells 247Sports that Purdue has offered.

Hey, Bone, never knew you were a "neighbor". I attended Concord (though about a decade before Shawn Kemp). Who were the ECHS grads who played at Purdue? Was Brekke one? I recall when IU had the 'Elkhart connection', but they were both Memorial grads.

Brekke at LB, Bob Martin at OT, then my Sr yr Jeff Kollat went to IU as a RB/returner. We had some pretty good talent, just could never get past Penn.
I was there during the Kemp days. A few of my buddies (Larkin, Johnson, maybe Maceo Sharp but he might have been from Memorial) from Central transferred to Concord to built that powerhouse with Kemp.

I recall Easters visited Purdue and he reported they told him to keep up the work and they might offer a scholarship. Looks like he grabbed the first P5 that offered, best of luck to him.
McCulley's only P5s are Kentucky, IU, and Cincy not exactly well known for developing QBs.
Powlus only P5 is Kentucky. Even ND has not offered.
Kentucky has offers to 17 un-committed QBs, certainly not all of them are committable.
Purdue has offers to 4 uncommitted QBs.
