Europe knows they’re in for a tough winter but have prepared for it. The coalition is strong. Yeah, they are pretty together for now. NATO is EXPANDING in Europe. You know why? Because they know what it was like to live right next to the Iron Curtain. They understand Russian aggression far better than we do. And they’ve decided, almost as a continent, that paying more for fuel is worth it if it stops Putin……..something that you republicans seem to have forgotten about under your new leader……..something that was a cornerstone of republican policy for 70 years.
Afghanistan. JFC. If Putin based his decision on that he was as wrong as all of you.
Verge of WW3? Says who? Because Putin is getting his ass kicked and is making threats you think it means he’s going to act on them? Do you have any idea what would happen to his support among his allies if he used nukes? He would be ostracized in the world community, probably lose even more support at home.
Do you know there are no negotiations going on? You think they would be on the front page? You think we should decide what Ukraine should do? You want to reward Russian aggression by give them land they took by force? Is that the new republican way too? Ask the Poles or the Estonians or Latvians if they think rewarding Russian aggression is a good policy. They, as well as the Ukrainians, know a hell of a lot more about than we do.
How would you have prevented it? The brilliant idea of sanctions before Putin ever invaded? Punish them for something they hadn’t done yet? Putin is KGB, old USSR. He thinks they have a right to Ukraine and wants to restore the old Soviet Union. He views the Western powers much as the USSR did in 1970.
1. The "coalition" is not strong. Last check Turkey and Hungary are NATO countries. And several NATO and EU countries are still buying and refining Russian oil and selling it to EU and NATO customers. Sure England has "cutoff" Russian energy but they are still buying downstream. You probably think Biden has gotten everybody to cutoff Putin but you would be very wrong
https://news.yahoo.com/eu-trying-cut-back-russian-095241190.html?soc_src=social-sh&soc_trk=tw&tsrc=twtr . So we spend billions to defend Ukraine
from Putin and Putin funds his army with money from people you say are our united allies. Is that how it works?
2. You should read the well detailed report on of all places the WaPo.
https://archive.ph/yhHdQ which shows you how this should have been avoided but there was zero interest to believe or support the US. And then there is this:
"The analysts said Putin calculated that any Western response to an attempt to reclaim Ukraine by force would be big on outrage but limited in actual punishment. The Russian leader, they said, believed that the Biden administration was chastened by the humiliating U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan and wanted to avoid new wars."
3. We moved to Defcon 3 in June. First time since 9/11.
4. What do people in Europe think? Try reading some stuff:

5. Yes. When peace negotiations occur they are often very public. As of now Putin has no off ramp because your guy does nothing but talk tough. So this will go on forever because of zero leadership. We spend more money. More people die.
6. One trick pony Bobby. Everybody who disagrees is a Trumper Putin apologist. Such regurgitation. Where is anything have I said I support Putin. I have said this should have been avoided and what people claim to be an accomplishment has been a gross failure.
