I was wondering the same thing. I do know that Adams was considering running as a republican. Folks speculate he was doing so in hopes that he was going to get a Chump pardon if things went south for him. The NY governor is trying to find a way to oust him from NYC mayor.
Wait...I thought Trump was racist? If that were true, why would he pardon Adams?
Because he's not racist - he's bigoted. There's a difference - look it up.
But more so, Trump is a 100% corrupt narcissist and has zero respect for the rule of law. That supersedes any racial biases, political philosophies, or substantive ideas he might barely have.
That is why he is rushing to the defense of guys like Adams and Putin. It's a mob boss style ethos - if someone pays proper homage to Trump, they can do anything to anyone and Trump will lie for and support them. No matter what.

Chump has pardoned several black folks. Again, Chump is a narcissist. Like any other narcissist everything is about them. They are very calculating in their actions. Chump is obviously a con man. Therefore, there are specific political reasons why he would or has pardoned black people. Believe me it is NOT because he likes them.
You act like being a narcissist is a bad thing. Coming from the party of lack-of-impulse-control, this is quite humorous.
So, Trump's a narcissist. Who cares. And yes, welcome to politics where everything is or should be calculated and have a reason for doing something.
