I'm quite happy with our seed and path. I think it's funny that the chairman said they were looking at the whole picture and gave more bite this year to the conference/regular season vs the tournament. That said, that really doesn't add up if you're a Wisconsin fan and being an 8 seed. Hell, they get 2nd in both league and tournament. Their only two losses before league were Creighton and N. Carolina. They had a bad streak but won 3 of their last four, including against Minnesota. Maryland could have been an 8 also but are a 6. Minnesota is the one that sticks out as a 5 seed. I think their coach's dad must have told his mob buddies that he wanted them to make sure his son got at least a 5 seed. Puff! A 5 seed.

This stuff happens every year I guess. Actually I'm only interested in one game. Vermont. Their mascot is a big cat like a Panther called a Catamount. The last one was shot there in 1881. Hmmm...Cata Mount. I wonder if he's related to Rick?

doubt it, but probably smells like maple syrup.

Here are the B1G rankings on the s-curve:

PU - 16
Minnesota - 18 (2nd best 5-seed seems a bit high)
Maryland - 23
Michigan -27
Wisconsin - 29 (seems a bit low)
Northwestern - 32
MSU - 35

Here are the B1G rankings on the s-curve:

PU - 16 / 20
Minnesota - 18 (2nd best 5-seed seems a bit high) / 21
Maryland - 23 / 34
Michigan -27 / 30
Wisconsin - 29 (seems a bit low) / 32
Northwestern - 32 / 50
MSU - 35 / 51
RPI rank added for reference. Interesting that every Big Ten team was seeded higher on the s curve than their RPI position. Without looking I doubt that was the case last year.

I really don't understand Maryland seeding vis-a-vis Wisconsin.
My theory is that most of the bracket was set days ago. Just a week ago Maryland was ahead of Wisconsin by over 10 spots in RPI rank. Committee probably didn't want to move teams around yesterday and start a chain reaction.

With the way this first round is set up...........a lot of Big Ten Teams could bow out in first round.. We by far have easiest first round game. I hope that doesn't happen(all the sports writers will say what a down year the conf was again),,,,,,,, But some really tough match ups!!

I was really surprised to see Wisconsin fall to an 8.

I was a little surprised to see Minnesota get a 5, but not much. The RPI loved Minnesota all year. Even during their January slide I don't think the Gophers dropped much below 20. They were kindof like Virginia in that respect.

I think the committee did pretty well with the rest of the B1G. Thought MSU would get a 10, though.

As tough as Michigan has been down the stretch, I thought they should have gotten at least a #6 seed. But overall, I don't think the BIG was seeded too badly. I hope we do great as a conference. Would love for the BIG to knock out a few SEC teams and ACC teams!
