Purdue's Cline taking on unexpected role
This wasn't necessarily the role Cline expected to play at this point in his career. But he's surprised even himself by how he's come along in areas such as dribble containment.

Purdue's Spike Albrecht takes one last shot in NCAA tournament

“Having this opportunity to come back and play again, I may not have had the best year for me individually, but I’ve been a part of a team that’s had a lot of success with a great group of guys,” Albrecht said. “It’s everything I was looking for in a fifth year.”

Thanks for posting this. People should stop looking at Cline as a one-dimensional player who can only shoot 3-pointers. Painter and the rest of the team don't see him that way anymore.

Just watched the clip of Spike dropping 17 in the championship game. Maybe he'll come alive on Thursday.

I think people also forget that Cline is 6'6". He gives you a lot of length on the perimeter. He had a tough task for the ISU game, and even though his man was hitting shots, he was guarding him about as well as one could.

Clines size is decieving when you watch on TV next to guys 6'8". When he walked by me in Evanston, I was shocked at his size and I already knew he was 6'6" ish. I think his legnth is what gets him the start as it helps our defense. He really does do several things well. I would like to see him pump fake and drive more like he did mid season.
