Why do soccer fans all larp as europeans?
Why do they call it: "futbol"?
Why do they hold scarves above their heads?
Why do they song lame songs in the stands?
Why do they adopt all the ridiculous soccer lingo from the UK? (touch, pace, structure, bend, club, FC, etc etc)
Why do they cheer for European teams in towns they have never been to?
If soccer people actually want the sport to catch on here, it needs to be original. American fans need to put their own brand on it. Role playing as europeans is the most beta unamerican thing imaginable. I could never be a soccer fan simply because I could never bring myself to cheering for a bunch of foreigners playing a game 6000 "kilometers" away.
