So did Minny just eliminate IU from the NCAA's and

the NIT?

IU now in 10th place in the B10 after being ranked in the top 3 earlier in the season.

IU loses 6 of last 7.

Does the Big get six or seven in the show?
If IU finishes at .500 or above the NIT will definitely take them.

That said, Glass might just decline the NIT invite out of school pride.

These (7) schools make the NCAAT:
Purdue
Wisconsin
Maryland
MSU (some work to do - inconsistent)
Northwestern (some work to do - stumbling at a bad time)
Minnesota (some work to do - but looking good after tonight)
Michigan (some work to do - playing better lately)

IU makes it only if they get hot in BTT, possibly if they get to the Championship game, which I think they will have lost way before that....

This is bad news. IU losing means Clappy is one step closer to the door. They need to win 2 more games this season (just not against Purdue). Iowa and Ohio State would be nice for them to beat. Maybe even win 1 game in the BTT. That would keep Crean around for another year.

Minny did not kill the NCAAs for IU. That happened Sunday by Michigan. However, Minnesota threw dirt in the grave. The NIT is about getting well-known teams to MSG so IU will get a bid if over 0.500. Having said that, I doubt that they make NYC even if invited.

I don't think we get 7 in unless there's a surprise in the conference tourney. I think 6 is the high bar based on the perception of the conference this year.

I agree on six. Just a hunch that there may be one or two "bid steals" in conference tournaments this year....been relatively quiet on that front the last couple of seasons IIRC. A Big Ten bubble team would be one of the first left out IMO.

I also don't think the conference would get another bid if an unexpected team won the BTT.

Of the (7) listed, who isn't getting in then? Michigan? Most sites have them as a (10) seed right now. The other (6) teams are all showing higher seeds than Michigan.

So who is it?

To add insult to injury.. IU is replaced on the list of perennials by Northwestern... lol

It depends.....ha-ha.

Seriously, though, Michigan has home games coming up with Wisconsin (tonight) and Purdue (next Saturday), which could dramatically change their outlook. Michigan State also has Purdue (road, this Saturday) and Wisconsin home coming up. If I were to speculate, I'd say Michigan is the most precarious......for now.

NW has to be a little careful about a free-fall; however, the win against Wisconsin really helped them. Really, though, only Wisconsin, Purdue, and Maryland are "locks, " IMO.

If Michigan gets past Wisky tonight I think they are in. Tall chore.

I think that clappy and company could make it to the final four in that other tournamant... the one below the NIT.
