How many minutes do you think Basil can get next year with VE and now Taylor in the mix? I think he could be the X-factor this year as many times he came off the bench last year and really provided a spark and energy that we needed badly off the bench. Do you think there is any chance he could move into minutes at the 3 behind RayDay or will he stay at the 4? I hope this kid works hard over the offseason and works his way into quality mins.

If Painter doesn't sign another point guard, the loss of Octeus should have a ripple effect in minutes which should affect Smotherman.

However, the real key is his development this summer. He's such a great athlete that I hope that he can figure out how to earn at least 20 minutes/game backing up both Edwards and Davis. He needs to play with the high energy level that he showed us in a handful of games this past season and it would also help if he could make some strides as a shooter.

I think the key to next years season is how well our Juniors do.....

Stephens and Smotherman need to step up and I think they will.

Basil's versatility and energy are huge and will be counted on this next year.

I think he is a true boilermaker! He will play lots in many different positions. He helped turn the program around and has a great personality. Basil will work hard to improve his shooting and he will also work on bringing the ball up.

My (possibly homer) prediction for Basil in 2015-16: B1G 6th man of the year.

My predication for 2016-17: Basil takes over the 3 spot from Ray Day.

At this point, what I hope for is Kendall and Basil to step up and have as good a year as last year's juniors prepping them for outstanding senior years.

I'd like to see him add 10-15 pounds of muscle and become a lockdown defender, similar to marcus green. no need for a consistent outside shot to earn minutes w/ KS, DM, RD, VE, and Cline in the rotation.
